Culling out the old apps

Since we are coming to the end of the year, it’s time to go with the old adage of out with the old and in with the new. As such, I’ve been looking over my iPad and Touch and have found there are lots of apps and games that simply need to be retired. I’ve found that many apps have been replaced by better apps and in some cases what used to take two apps can now be done in one. I also run across the occasional, "what was I thinking" app…

The Touch is especially cluttered with dozens of freebie games that just never got played. They looked amusing and time consuming from the descriptions, but now they’re just taking up space and need to be archived out.

I’ve also notice that many Touch apps and games have been replaced by HD versions and I just don’t see myself coming back and playing them on the smaller screen. For example, SimCity just isn’t going to work on that smaller screen. Strangely, I’m keeping all the puzzle and word games for the Touch. Those seem to work much better on the smaller play area.

At any rate, the Touch is a bit of a cluttered mess and needs some pruning. I’ll need to be a little more judicious with my free downloads and purchases for the upcoming year. It’s all fun and games until you can’t scroll through your list of apps anymore…

Just out of curiosity, how many apps do you have installed on your device?

Thanks for reading you majestic sausage.
