I’ve bought a ton during this Ashampoo promotion

Ashampoo is practically giving their software away and I have to admit I have been indulging in some shopping. I grabbed another copy of Winoptimizer 7 and bought an upgrade to HDD Controller 2. And since they were so dirt cheap I also bought a copy of Snap4 and Photo Commander 8, which all totaled was about $16. Photo Commander is actually pretty good. I tinker with a whole slew of tools to organize photos like Faststone Viewer and Irfanview, but Photo Commander has a neat calendar function, collage, merge and some other "filters" which have a neat effect. As a photo organizer it’s actually not too bad. I need to spend some more time with it, but for $2.50 it’s not a bad purchase at all.

Snap4 is actually quite good. I use a lot of screen shots for the QA process and this has a whole host of tools available. You can overlay arrows, text boxes, make highlights, and all sorts of things to draw attention to what you need. I’ve been using Snagit8 which is an older version and is showing some signs of age. Quite frankly it runs dog slow on my work machine. Snap4 has even more features and runs very well. Again, another $2.50 purchase which I’m quite happy with.

I think that now means I’ve got just about every app Ashampoo makes. Well, not really since they make a ton more stuff. But I do have the major ones and they are all really quite good. So, if you haven’t used their coupon you need to get over there get some software. You can get all their major software for less than $10 a piece.

Also, I downloaded their ClipFinder HD app the other day and it’s pretty neat. It allows you to find higher quality videos across all the Tube sites like YouTube, Vimeo, Veoh, Spike, Daily Motion and Google TV. It then presents a long list of videos which you can scroll though. It also allows you to export the audio of a clip to MP3, albeit at 56kb. But overall it’s not bad and can easily find some quality content out there. And, it’s free. You just need to submit your email address so they can send you the serial number. And of course they’ll send you emails with massive discounts in them. So if you want to try out their products now is time to make a move. If nothing else, the Burning Studio software is definitely worth a look.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
