Do you remember Mille Bornes?

I really have no idea what made me think of this game. I guess I had the idea of Uno or something in my head. But of course, once I’d thought of the game I desperately wanted to play it again. I used to play this on the PC as a time waster many years ago, but those versions are all gone now. However, my new gaming platform has a wonderful version of it called Millarium. It’s a very nicely styled version of Mille Bornes that has easy controls and is a lot of fun to play. For those that remember the goal is to get to 700 miles before the other player. Once, or more to the point, IF you hit that mark, you can extend the game to 1000 miles. Along the way you throw accidents, flat tires, and out of gas cards at your opponent while they do the same thing to you. It’s incredibly easy to […]

Brothers In Arms® 2: Global Front HD – $0.99

I’m tempted to get this game for the iPad even though I don’t have an iPad. Is that wrong? I’m just trying to play ahead… Brothers In Arms® 2: Global Front HD While I’m at it, maybe I should get this too… Underworlds Ultimate Edition

Apple will charge for the iOS4 update for the iPad?

I’m reading rumors that Apple is going to charge for the next update to the iPad. Wow, that’s going to piss some people off. I remember when I got my 2nd Gen iPod Touch and that same week iOS3 came out and Apple wanted to charge me $10 for it. I was furious. I actually held off and then had to send that Touch in to be repaired and ended up getting the 32GB 3rd Gen model because BestBuy messed everything up so badly. I would have been even more pissed off had I just thrown that $10 away. Now, $5 really isn’t all that much to upgrade an OS, but everyone else got it for free, so it seems wrong to charge the iPad folks If this does turn out to be real, I sense a backlash coming.   Apple to charge for iPad iOS 4 upgrade

Hot Apple fanboy love

The big day of Apple fanboy love is here. Don got his new iPhone4 and Theo got his new iPad right off the Fedex truck. Of course I’m jealous of the iPad and long for the day when I get mine. We didn’t get to spend too much time with the iPhone (work always gets in the way of having a good time) but from what I did see it was quite cool. I’m not sure it really needed to be thinner but the display is very bright and readable and the new camera features are pretty kickass. It certainly looked faster when launching apps and the quick demo of the front facing camera was pretty neat. I have none of the previous iPhone models so I’m not getting this one either but there was much swooning over it by others in the building. I like the feature set though. I also wonder how many if these new features, if […]

Using software without having to think

This article is brilliant! That was when I saw it: in a handful of minutes on completely unfamiliar hardware and software (no, I don’t have an iPhone), with an unusual multitouch interface I’d just ‘done’ things without having to think about them, without having to learn anything, without having to struggle. The gap between wanting to do something and doing it was so short that, for twenty minutes, it ceased to exist. You really need to read the rest of the article: Is that all
