I got a bug

It’s been a long time in the making, but I finally found a piece of crap bug that I can restore! Normally a VW Bug costs about $1500 even though it looks like it’s been driven down the streets of Baghdad. Last night we found one that actually starts and doesn’t have squirrels nesting in the trunk. It’s not pretty by any means, but it’s in pretty respectable shape. I drove it home last night – I did spend some time on the side of the road – but it’s in the garage with the Haynes car manual at the ready. It seems pretty solid so hopefully we can spend a year or two fixing it up and turn it into something nice. It’s a 1972 Super Beetle with all the exhaust fume smell that goes with it! Right off the bat it needs some tailpipes! Oh yeah and tires And wipers And seats And exhaust vents And sideview mirrors […]

New bumper coming

The chick who hit my car has decided to play possum and not call anyone back, but I’ve decied to start the process of getting my bumper fixed. I dropped it off this morning and after an insanely long wait I believe they’re working on it. I doubt it’ll be done today, but the whole bumper is coming off, so in the end I will have a gleaming new bumper that totally doesn’t match my car. It’ll be stunning!

Word Solitaire is brutal!

I finally finished the first level in Word Solitaire! All my tries up to this point have had me clicking the white flag to surrender. But I finally got my thinking cap on and worked everything out. I’ve been determined to actually win a game. If you haven’t checked the game out, it’s worthing looking into. A very simple, but at the same time a very challenging change to Solitaire. Spell words instead of runs of numbers. It’s terribly addictive and the $0.99 just lures you in. http://www.candywriter.com/wordsolitaire.html

75 miles on the trainer

I took FrankenTrainer for a spin this weekend and completed 75 miles all totalled. I caught up on some episodes of CSI Miami and Burn Notice while peddling around. I got a wireless odometer, but the range comes up a little short so it won’t actually work receive a signal at the very front of the bike. I had to sit it on the floor to get a reading. Pretty dorky but it worked for the most part. I have a better one on order which should have a great deal more range. Considering the price it better!
