The wireless keyboard is pretty damn excellent

I’ve only had the keyboard a week, but it has already proven to be quite useful. It’s extremely convenient and portable, plus it’s feature light. It took about two seconds to configure and then it was ready to go. I do find myself trying to reach for a mouse when I’m working with it. Old Windows habits die hard I suppose. I was concerned about how much noise it makes when you type, however, it’s quieter than a regular keyboard. I believe it’s actually quieter than my laptop keyboard. I was sitting in a meeting the other day and you could barely hear me typing on it. The layout of the keys takes a tiny bit of getting used to since I have a tendency to hit the "=" key when I want to hit the "Delete" key. Just a matter of layout though. I’ll hit it with practice. I did take some chiding saying the iPad wasn’t usable as […]

What is with all this lawn mowing?

I really don’t understand why my neighbors have such a hard-on for mowing the lawn. Sure, we all have to cut the grass, but these guys seem to be chomping at the bit to get it done. At 9am they’re like horses out of the gate rushing to get their mower wheels on grass. And it’s not like they’re trying appease the Mrs. and get it done so they can go piss the rest of the day away at the golf course or auto show or football game. The mowing is merely the start of their multi-staged, multi-pronged garden tending adventure. After they’ve cut the grass in alternating patterns it’s time to pull out the weed eater, then the edger, then the leaf blower. Honestly, I think some of the guys out there have an unnatural relationship with their leaf blowers. And for some they break it out multiple times a week. I mow the lawn because I have to […]

April Fool’s! You’re going to the DMV!

Wasn’t that a thrill a minute! Nothing says a day off like getting up and heading down to the DMV. And not just any DMV, but the special DMV for foreigners like me. Since I’m not from around here I need to go to the super secret location that is in the middle of nowhere so that I can be dealt with accordingly. And apparently the DMV is the place where all the baggy pant wearing cool kids hang out. If you have dreadlocks, gold teeth, pants that don’t fit or a "wife beater" t-shirt, this is the place for you. Perhaps I stumbled into one of their club meetings. Whatever it was, the crowd was a little "worn out" looking shall we say. But at least the people working there weren’t too bad. They seemed friendly and helpful. Considering the lunacy and hustle and bustle of the place I don’t see how they do it. I’m not sure if […]
