Behold the power of the Miracle Plane

As we set off for the company picnic we were amidst pure religious fervor. On the way to Carrigan Farms the traffic on 77 began to slow. People were seen standing on over passes. Then they were seen stopped on off ramps. Next, they were parked on the shoulder of the highway. The further we drove up the more people we saw. Naturally we thought we were in the presence of greatness. It couldn’t be Rush they were in New Orleans. It couldn’t be Sarah Palin she’s not great. Although I did my Paul Revere Fact and Figures book Special Edition just in case such an event broke out. It was mind boggling. Why would people take the day off, line the side of the busiest highway in the state and stand in the hot Southern sun? Clearly something of epic proportions was about to unfold. And since we were in the middle of it by God we were going to see it.

Praveen pulled out the trusty iPhone and searched the web. But the answer he got made no sense. People were lining the roads to witness the wreckage of a plane drive by? We had failed to make note of the significance. This was no ordinary plane, this was the Miracle Plane. The plane that crashed into the Hudson some time ago was now on the move to a museum in Charlotte. And these people were out here to see it? It must be important! And since all the traffic was stopped we had no choice but to wait for its arrival.

The news channels must have thought it noteworthy. Four helicopters circled overhead chronicling its final voyage.

And there it was coming over the crest of a hill a giant white fuselage with the words US Airways on the side. The wings, tail section and several others bits must have been on another truck or had been sold to make cheap and affordable cars. We had been late in setting off to the building to pick up Praveen. We had been late in getting out of the parking lot to get to the farm. We had been delayed for this exact moment. We were here because of destiny! We were destined to see the Miracle Plane whether we knew what it was or not! We were stuck in that traffic jam for a reason. And as soon as I gazed upon it I knew I could walk on water.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
