I’m not sure I see the point of an iPad mini

The rumors are flying fast and furious, but I’m not sure I get the point. Why an iPad mini? I have the Kindle Fire and don’t find the size to be very productive. Is this Apple’s attempt to make a low budget e-book reader or perhaps a portable gaming console for kids?

I have no doubt it will sell, I just don’t see the practical application.

I’m sure much will be revealed in October.
