Dock Rampage Battle For Empire City Event

The Pay What You Owe event is just a couple hours away from completing and that will kick off the Dock Rampage Event which is another Battle For Empire City Event. The events have been fast and furious, there’s no doubt about it. I haven’t actually completed any of them yet, but I’ve stockpiled some pretty good weapons. Since we started this barrage, I’ve upped my attacking rating by about 8,000 points. I’ve been within 3 levels of completing each event, except the Dockside Mill Madness, which I didn’t participate in. Those buildings were just too damn expensive. Pay What You Owe will finish in a couple hours so I venture to say Dock Rampage will start around 3-4PM EST. I’m sure it will be in full swing by the time we hit Happy Hour. This should make for a whole lot of ass kicking through the weekend. I just hope I’m not on the receiving end.

How to Remove DRM From Your Kindle Books using Calibre

Last night I wanted to convert one of my Kindle eBooks into a text file, but needed to remove the DRM protection so I could work with it. I was a little shocked at how easy it was. It’s a completely automated process and it’s free. You’ll need to download Calibre, which is a fantastic tool in it’s own right. I use it all the time to convert PDF files into .Mobi and .ePub files for my iPad. Once Calibre is downloaded, head over to Apprentice Alf and download the Calibre plugin. It’s the second link under The Tools heading. The other zip file is for removing DRM from other eBooks like Barnes and Noble. I used that not too long ago as well and it worked perfectly. There are articles on the page for process as well. (That download page is just too damn hard to understand so here are the plugins) DeDRM_plugin_6.0.6.zip – Download this if you’re just […]

Pay What You Owe – Crime City Limited Time Event

Gree has kicked off another event similar to the Hit List and the Italian Jab. This is also another Mission based Event that uses your Energy rather than a PvP event that uses Stamina. There are 21 jobs to be done that go through multiple locales on the map. As always, it will start easy then the amount of Energy needed to complete the level will get out of control. Since there are only 21 levels, I think it will escalate pretty quickly. For those interested, this is not an Epic Boss Event. Looks like we’ll have to wait a few more weeks for one of those to show up. But I’m fine with that though. I prefer the Limited Time Events because it’s a hell of a lot easier to predict when you’ll get a weapons increase and how much time you have to plot your moves. I’m sick of spending a couple hours going up against the boss […]

Block Fortress for iPad – Tower Defense mixed with Minecraft

Today, it was time to take a spin around Block Fortress, the combination of Minecraft and Tower Defense. I like Minecraft and building things, plus I like tower defense games. Since I’m not good at either of them a combination of the two seems right up my alley. At first, Block Fortress seems incredibly simple, build a fortress using blocks and guns and defend it. You can build walls, towers, put up bait blocks and create whatever type of block defense system you like. Then you can add some machine guns, plasma guns, laser guns and all sorts of cool stuff. And once your defense is in the place, the second part of the game begins and it turns into a first person shooter with you blasting away at the hordes as they come to knock your playhouse down. The concept is exceptionally cool and it’s very good fun to build your hideout to keep the enemy at bay. But […]
