I slashed my way through Dungeon Hunter

After much hacking and slashing I completed my first run through Dungeon Hunter as the Barbarian. There is a multi-part quest at the very end with multiple bosses that must be defeated before you face the final showdown with the Queen. Loot is flying fast and furious in this final stage and there are multiple hordes trying to do you in. It gets ugly in there. But first, let’s get the bad stuff out of the way. There’s a couple of things which I didn’t like about the game: Merchants are useless – While they’re useful for dumping junk weapons in a hurry they don’t sell anything useful. Every weapon I used I found along the way. To expand that, what is the point of gold in this game? If I can’t buy any cool weapons why do I need gold? I have the same complaints about Diablo. Dungeon Hunter by Gameloft

The chances of us seeing a new version of Diablo this year are well, slim. We’ve waited this long, what’s a couple more years, right? Recently however, Gameloft has filled the void with Dungeon Hunter. It’s as close as we’re going to get for awhile, but that aside it’s a great game in it’s own right. It has a very similar top down view, three separate classes to choose from (Barbarian, Rogue, Sorcerer), plenty of quests, lots of loot and magical items to find and even skills based character building. It’s every bit as fun as playing the PC version of Diablo except this has a whole new look and all new quests. I especially like the part of smashing barrels and kicking open chests looking for loot.
