Shroud of the Mustache

As you know I’m an avid cyclist and I think we all need to get out there and do more to keep ourselves healthy and active. I’m also a fan and supporter of Shroud of the Avatar. When you combine these two things together I have no choice but to be a part of it. And thus we have the Shroud of the Mustache! Movember is a way to bring awareness for Men’s Health during the month of November and is commemorated with some epic mustaches! Starr Long of the Shroud of the Avatar will captain his dev team to raise awareness and funds to help this cause. I’m totally for this endeavor. There are wonderful causes out there and through my cycling efforts I’ve supported dozens of them, but there is always room for one more and we sometimes forget that cancer knows nothing of gender. The Kindle Fire HDX

I pre-ordered the original Kindle Fire the first day it was available and it was in Nov 2011 that it showed up on the doorstep. I have to admit I haven’t used the Kindle to it’s full potential since I’ve had multiple iPads the entire time. However, it’s been a pretty reasonable device. But I didn’t buy the device because I thought it would be better than the iPad, I bought one because of the potential I saw in the device and to encourage Amazon to continue it’s development. Besides, it makes a pretty decent, albeit small capacity MP3 player. See, it’s more than just the what the Kindle has under the hood, it’s about what it represents. Carnival Crate Event – Crime City

It’s a new case event unlike any of the others we’ve seen before. It’s not a 10 case event, or even a 20 case event. Oh no. Gree has changed everything and made this a staggering 100 case event with prizes for every 1, 2, 3 and 5 cases you open. That is until you get way up there to the 70 level, then you need to open a full 30 before you can get the final prize. The prizes aren’t bad either, but there’s only 4 days to get them. This is going to be a fast and furious event. But I have to say this is finally a way to actually do something with the hundreds of cases we all seem to collect. Time to cool the engines – Liquid Cooling for my CPU

Not too long ago I put together a new machine complete with 8-Core AMD processor and quite a few terabytes worth of hard drive space. It’s quite the beast of machine, but there is one small problem. Throwing all those cores at the problem sort of makes things hot. Most of the time it’s no big deal as it chews through work without breaking a sweat. But, break out a large file to convert and things get a little toasty. That brings me to the Corsair H80i Liquid CPU Cooler. To be honest, liquid cooling makes me a tiny bit nervous. All that liquid. All those electronics. Sounds like a recipe for electrocution. But, the technology has come a long way and it’s even broken down into parts. You don’t have to run tubing through the entire machine. Along with the new Epic Boss Event, there is the new Limited Time Building, the Big Top Burlesque, a rather large, but easily affordable building that everyone should have a shot at completing.
