Congratulation to Notch!

Congratulations to Notch who got married over the weekend. How funny to think he was hopeful that his Minecraft creation would make enough money to pay for a decent wedding. I’m pretty sure it worked out for him. Congrats!

Say Hello to Pepino Grande!!

6 Cores. 8GB. 3.2Ghz. 2TB. Fedex just delivered my new machine – an AMD Phenom II X6 Dell Studio XPS – Set Your Hair on Fire Edition, in black. And, damn is it sexy! It may not be the absolute fastest machine going, but egad, it has more get up and go than I do! It also comes with a few surprises. One, it has a media care reader which is a nice touch. It also comes with a wireless network card, which means I can put this thing just about anywhere. For right now though it will be my Virtualbox machine hosting Windows Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2010. It will also host Windows Server 2003 with Exchange 2003. Yes, this is an educational tool. Make no mistake, I plan to play some games on this bad boy, otherwise that 1GB ATI video card would go to waste. But, it’s main function is to help me understand Exchange and […]

Let’s Golf 3 – not what I was hoping for

I jumped at the chance to get Let’s Golf 3 since I’ve played and enjoyed the previous two titles. But, I should have been wary since it’s a freemium title. To me, freemium is another word for ripoff and Let’s Golf seems to live up to that. The graphics looks great and there is plenty of new content to play. But, the game mechanics suffer and this new "energy" feature is just plain stupid. On my iPad the game crashes repeatedly, the display gets "jerky" quite often and having to pay to play, or alternatively sit idle, is just moronic. The new currency is "energy", and after you play, you need to let your character "recharge" by letting him or her sit idle for an hour or pay to recharge. Come on, that’s just annoying. Do you really think someone who’s either enjoying the game or struggling is going to sit for an hour and then come back for more? […]

Defender of the Crown – iOS Universal – $2.99

If you don’t remember Defender of the Crown then you don’t know gaming. Not only is this an Amiga classic, but a gaming classic overall. The graphics and gameplay were ahead of their time and gave the game a look you didn’t see anywhere else. Sadly, the Amiga didn’t last, not in the States anyway, but the game does live on and you grab it for the extremely low price of $2.99. I think this is going to be one hell of a game! And considering this is running in an emulator, I can’t wait to see where this takes us! Description Defender of the Crown – Emulated Amiga Version Brought to you by Cinemaware® in association with Manomio The Age of Chivalry! A time of lusty wenches and black hearted villains. King Richard has been murdered and England is thrown into civil war! Amidst the ringing clash of steel and the thunder of charging steeds the bold Saxon […]

19TB and still growing

Oh yes I did! There was a sale and I bought another 3TB of space. Now you may ask yourself, Don Pedro, just what in the hell do you need that kind of space for? To which I must answer, why not? However, I really do have a reason for this outrageous amount of hard drive space. Over the weekend, I plan to sync my machine with the Internet.
