Who still cares about Internet Explorer?

Does anyone really care about IE9? I’m not trying to be rude or crass, but with so many other (better) browsers out there are people really just chomping at the bit to see what Microsoft has come up with? I only use IE when I have to test compatibility of a website. I haven’t regularly used IE since Firefox 2.0 hit the scene with its tabbed browsing. I saw lots of people downloaded the 9 beta and I just have to wonder why …

Ashampoo Winoptimizer 8 – $7.99 – 60% coupon code

Ashampoo is having another one of their massive discount sales. This time around you can use the coupon code "consumer" to get 60% of anything they sell. This includes upgrades. Winoptimizer 8 is currently on sale as a pre-order so you can click on the Upgrade button and get 60% off the upgrade price. With the coupon Winoptimizer 8 is only $7.99 as a final price. Not bad for this sort of optimization tool. You can also use it for Burning Studio 10 (which I use and think is pretty damn good) as well as Snap 4 (which I use quite a bit at work for screenshots). Quite a few choices at a serious discount.

iPad 2 – Here and Gone

I see there are lots of iPads on sale on eBay as people get ready to upgrade. I’ve been checking on the web and none of the stores I’ve checked have any iPad 2s in stock. The Apple store has changed the shipping time to 2-3 weeks and from the reports I’m seeing people have been standing in line for hours without getting anything. If they haven’t already it looks like Apple will sell out before the weekend is over.

The iPad 2 and massive game sales

The big sales are underway! Lots of studios and smaller independents are putting games on sale to coincide with the release of the iPad 2. Gameloft, EA Mobile (I think EA could have done a little better as far as sale prices go…) and others are dropping the price so you can play the latest games on the latest device. Others, like Firemint, have just come out with HD games (Real Racing 2 HD) that are optimized for the speed and graphics capabilities of the iPad 2. Even if you aren’t grabbing a new device you should be able to pick up some pretty sweet deals throughout the weekend. You’ll need to keep an eye on sites like AppShopper.com to see the latest price drops. Other apps like Bryce Manor HD, Tower Madness HD, Pocket God, Flight Control HD and Worms HD have already had price drops. Should be a pretty exciting weekend! And don’t forget, tomorrow Dungeon Hunter 2 […]
