NIS 2012 has dropped in price yet again. At $21.50 I bought another copy so I can have the CD key for next year when I need to renew it. You can either get the digital version and download it immediately, or buy the CD and keep it for later. Crime City HD

This goes against my nature, but I downloaded the Freemium game, Crime City HD and despite all things, I actually like the game. I’m adamantly against Freemium titles and in-app purchases. Just make a decent game and let me buy it. Don’t nag me, don’t make me sign up for stupid junk, don’t hound me to write reviews and go to your stupid Facebook page. Games by EA and Gameloft have really abused the hell out of in-app purchases. But strangely, Crime City HD is a game worth playing. Based on the content I’m surprised the game is in the app store. You go around a petty thug and work your way up to being a Mafia crime boss. You rob, intimidate, bribe, plant evidence, beat up and perform hits. The graphics are good and there are dozens of little missions you need to complete. Plus, there is a Sim aspect, where you build stores and make money off them. […]

I want to be a bamboo farmer

Hung out with a buddy of mine at his property down in Clover. He’s got all sorts of bamboo growing down there. He even has an interesting black stalked variety. Funny how so many people consider bamboo to be a menace and want it off their property and he’s doing his damnedest to get it to grow. I think bamboo is cool as hell, it’s like the soy bean of building materials. It helps with erosion, you can build with it, you can eat it, it’s decorative, it regenerates in a year rather than 30 and costs a fraction of the cost. Maybe I need a bamboo plantation.

Let’s see if we can make this bike fit

Went to the bike shop for a fitting of my Roubaix. Seems I have some odd body geometry going on. I need a 130mm stem for my bike, but alas, they don’t stock one in that size. We moved the seat back, and put on a 120mm stem since they have that one in stock. Now all I have to do is ride the bike a couple hundreds miles to see if the changes worked.

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to one and all. I’ll be working and hiding from my family. I would be manning the grill, but alas they don’t condone that sort of thing from work. What kind of world do we live in where you can have a blazing fire and roast weenies in the flames while at work? It’s an outrage!
