Let’s Get Dirty With Some New Trucks in the SpinTires Dev Edition With Mods

It’s time for more adventures inside the world of SpinTires and this time I’ve loaded up the Developer Edition which gives me access to Mods. This means I can install a whole range of trucks and cars and go far beyond the 2 the game originally comes with. For today’s excitement, I brought along the Humvee, the Kraz, the Kraz logging truck and the Stryker. Right now a lot of the vehicles are military oriented, but that’s cool with me. It’s about time we get race around in something other than a nitrous burning track car. I’m all for 6 and 8 wheel trucks that have incredible amounts of torque that can barrel through trees and traverse massive water hazards. With that in mind, why don’t you jump on board as we take a few of these trucks out for a test drive. They’re big and heavy and loaded with danger. I’m headed for the testing ground so I can […]

Let’s Go For a Spin Around the Island in BeamNG Drive

Hey Everyone and welcome to a first look at the up and coming game, BeamNG Drive. This is another "soft body physics" game in development with a tech demo and early access. I went ahead and purchased the "full version" which means this is the alpha build and of course I’ll get access to both the beta and full version when released. For $15, that’s a pretty impressive offer. Soft Body Physics, to me anyway, means that I can go around and beat the daylights out of the car and it will be visually represented. The hood will crumple, the wheels will bend, the doors will come off. And for the way I drive, that’s a good thing! BeamNG Drive is somewhat similar to Next Car Game in that the car will take damage and that will affect the driving performance. I very quickly learned that it’s easy to get the car to pull to the left or right as […]

What went wrong with Crime City?

When I first started playing Crime City back in June of 2012, I thought it was an impressive combination of SimCity and Grand Theft Auto. It was a unique blend of city building with the added element of other characters sneaking in to rob you blind. There was a balance of attack and defense. It also had a story line pushing your forward to do jobs, rob rivals, win battles and upgrade buildings. But all that has changed. Over the past year, Funzio now Gree have turned Crime City in a game that constantly has it’s hand out for money. There’s no longer a reason to actually play. It’s all about the next Limited Time Building, Limited Time Event or Syndicate Event. There’s no time to complete jobs anymore, that would be a waste of energy. There’s no time to upgrade the buildings in your hood,  that would take away from the LTB upgrades. The multi-million dollar weapons in the […]

When it comes to Kickstarter and Early Access games, stop being cheap

Personally, I love the idea of "Early Access" games where you can support the makers of a new game and watch it develop. Having input into a game is very exciting. Over the last year there has been a lot of this through Kickstarter and now Steam Early Access. I’ve put my support behind multiple games and look forward to more developers breaking away from big game publishers to create the games players really want. Sadly though, I’ve noticed a dark trend. I’ve read far too many complaints from people who feel that Early Access should be free or it’s unacceptable to charge more than $5 for a game that’s in development. People want to play for free and then after all the development is done and after their changes have been implemented, maybe they’ll buy a copy when it’s released. Well that seems perfectly fair doesn’t it? "I want you to build me a house with this many rooms, […]

Syndicate Event – Battle for Empire City: Seaside Shoot-out – Reward List – Crime City

So the new Syndicate Battle – Battle for Empire City: Seaside Shoot-out is at hand. The new war offers plenty of prizes both as a Syndicate and as an individual. Not only are there prizes for the Top 4000 and above, there are prizes for the number of battles you win in a row, the number you win total and the number of fights you win as a participant. If you play your cards right, there are a ton of prizes to win. But you have to battle hard and probably spend at least a vault of gold in order to hit the big numbers. One thing that stands out is the final prize in the individual tier. It jumps from 500 wins to 1200 wins with nothing in between. The prize jumps from 5154 atk to 53613 atk. Wow, the difference is shocking. Seems a bit harsh on the part of Gree to make the gap so wide. In […]
