Need For Speed The Movie

It’s opening day for the Need For Speed Movie and since I’ve been a fan of the franchise for years (and am currently playing The Run) I decided to take a chance and see what the movie was all about. Overall it was quite decent with some really neat cars, a few tense moments and when it was all over it made me want to jump behind the wheel and race across the country. But that’ll have to wait until I get home and can get The Run loaded up. Don’t expect this to be an award winner or a movie full of intricate plots twist and some sort of surprise ending. It’s exactly what you think it is and that’s not a bad thing. There are some wickedly powerful and sexy cars, wild driving, police chases and helicopters that come swooping out of the sky. Chop Up Top Shop – Limited Time Building (LTB) Cost and Upgrade – Crime City

Time for a new Limited Time Building, this time it’s the Chop Up Top Shop. The initial price if $50 million with a payout of $500k every 18 hours. The price is pretty reasonable – at least to start. With the modifiers the cost is good up to Level 7. That billion dollar Level 8 upgrade might be a bit steep for Vinnie’s Boss Wrench – 22384/14922 +1% Melee Attack Bonus and $18 million in payout. The ROI will take some time on this one, but hey it’s not a building. I would put this in the middle of the road. Quite a bit better than some of the others like the Big Top Burlesque and the SL-ICE Rink, but not on the high end like the Pagoda or the West Side Gems. Onward and Upward. Going Down Limited Time Quest Event (LTQ) – Reward and Prize List – Crime City

The new Going Down LTQ is at hand and it’s broken down into 3 parts – Beginner, Normal and Elite. The are all new NPCs so there’s no pre-hitting going on. You didn’t expect there would be did you? The Beginner level only takes a few minutes to complete and the reward isn’t too bad. Normal will take a lot more energy to get through so plan accordingly. You have 3 days to get this one done. I’ll get halfway through Normal and call it quits. As I say with all of these events, I’m throwing down cash to finish an event. The game isn’t worth that much to me. I’m pretty much at the point of just idly playing. I erractically log in to pick up my cash. But anyway, there is the new LTQ, there is the Hot Rod Box Event and the Chop Shop Up Top LTB. Save 33% on Assetto Corsa on Steam – $26.65

Another Early Access game is on sale at Steam. Assetto Corsa gets a nice 33% discount and drops to $26.65. I’ve been waiting for another sale on this game. I didn’t get a copy the last time aroud simply because there wasn’t enough content in the game to justify the cost. At the time $29.95 got you a single car and a single track. Plus the game was incredibly limited. Even though it was Early Access, the cost didn’t justify the end result. But things have changed. Assetto Corsa has been massively updated since then with dozens of new cars and plenty of tracks. It’s still early days, but I’ve watched a lot of videos and this game is looking spectacular. The graphics are already impressive, the driving AI is coming along nicely and overall it looks very playable. The Run Time Limited Time Quest (LTQ) – Crime City

This is a two part LTQ where you need to defeat the NPC and collect loot items. The loot items themselves aren’t really that spectacular, but the reward weapons are pretty decent.
