Audials Moviebox 11 On Sale for Easter at BitsDuJour

I’ve written about Audials One before and how you can copy movies from multiple different sources, as well as record music from the Internet, find radio stations and search for music videos from dozens of different sources. I bought Audials One 11 the last time it was one sale and it’s a pretty damn impressive piece of software. But, if you don’t need all that extra music ripping stuff, you can get Audials Moviebox 11, which contains all the pieces you need to capture streaming media and record your screen. This is how you can grab movies from sources like Amazon and Netflix. Audials Moviebox is very similar to products like Jaksta Media Recorder and Applian Capture Studio. And in case you didn’t know, Applian and Jaksta are the same company. I find Audials to be a little better at capturing different kinds of video without having to resort to the screen capture. Applian pretty much relies on that technology […]

Next Car Game on Sale for Easter at Steam

As you expect there are some nice Easter sales going on. One of those is Next Car Game from BugBear Entertainment. The price has dropped 33% to a mere $20.09. Not only has the price dropped, but there has been a new update which includes the Sandpit Shakedown – a brand new course to try out. There are plenty of other improvement such as game physics and vehicle suspension. This looks like a pretty impressive update and as soon as I get the chance I’m getting behind the wheel to try it out. Next Car Game is pretty awesome with that good old fashioned "rubbing is racing" mentality and to hell with the idea of multimillion dollar cars and massive teams for support or even sponsors. Get behind the wheel of a beat up car with nothing but a massie engine and hopefully the right set of tires and see how you make out on the track. The rules are […]

I have unleashed all the Plagues in Plague Inc for iPad

So I’ve put Crime City aside to focus on something far more entertaining – Plague Inc. Last night I completed the last round of the plagues and finished off the world with the Bio-Weapon. I have to admit my scores haven’t been that good, but it’s all about wiping out the world, not getting a high score. To that end, I’ve accomplished all my goals! I will say that Plague is one of the best games I’ve played and it’s wickedly good fun and satisfying. I’m very tempted to spend the money to get the Neurax Worm for the iPad version, but at the same time I might hold off since I have that available on the PC version I got from Steam. I suppose I could go with the alternative, but I’m not sure I’m up to the challenge of playing on Brutal, I’ll just get my ass handed to me. I’m also curious to see the Necroa Virus […]

My first day on the track with Assetto Corsa

I finally got a chance to get behind the wheel of Assetto Corsa and while the game looks beautiful, I had some serious steering issues. To be honest, it was damn near impossible to get around corners. I would try to turn and would just keep going straight and slide right off the track and in several cases plowed right into the wall. Something seems really off with the steering. I’m obviously versed at driving and have no problems negotiation corners in Need for Speed, Dirt, Grid and every other game I’ve played, but for the life of me I couldn’t get this damn car to corner. What the hell am I doing wrong? I’m using the Xbox controller, which I use in all the other games and it works fine, but it just isn’t working. Anyone else have this same sort of problem? Is this a problem with the controller or perhaps a config setting? I know the game […]

CCleaner Roots Out 5GB Worth of Wasted Space

I decided it was time to give one of my machines a bit of clean with CCleaner and I have to say I’m a bit surprised with all the junk it found. My goodness, 5GB worth of old files including 3GB in the Recycle Bin (which I didn’t realize was there) and another 1GB worth of temp files. Looks like I need to run this a little more often.
