Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium at BitsDuJour

BitsDuJour is having a sale on the Premium Edition of MalwareBytes. This is a pretty awesome program and I have it running on my gaming machine. The definition database is always up to date and it does a great job of blocking sites, both incoming and outgoing. With all the advertising you see on all the webpages you visit, who knows what’s going on in the background. You can’t be sure of what sort of drive-by nonsense is going on when you’re just looking for a book or movie review or song lyrics. You need more than AV. MalwareBytes is an excellent choice and $14.97 for a yearly subscription is really good. That’s just a touch over a dollar a month. You can afford that. This is a 12 month subscription, not the lifetime license that BitsDuJour and MalwareBytes have offered in the past, but, those sorts of subscriptions don’t last forever. SuperAntiSpyware, my other spyware choice, offere Lifetime upgrade, […]

Fixing my hard drive space issues by buying more hard drive space – 15TB more storage

So, I explained I’ve run into some issues with my files and how they are scattered everywhere and I can’t make sense out of anything. Well, in order to get myself out of the corner I’ve painted myself into, I had to buy more hard drive space. Yes, indeed, in order to fix the fact that I have too much hard drive space I had to buy more hard drive space. To that end I bought 3 5TB Seagate external hard drives which adds hefty 15TB of additional space to my machine. This gives me somewhere in the neighborhood of 50TB on a single machine. Gadzooks! Here is how I plan to attack the problem. I’m going to copy all my TV Shows, which constitutes around 3.5TB across 2 drives to one of the new drives. This will put them all in one place so I can see what I’ve got. Next, I will copy all of the movies I’ve […]

My machine is riddled with too many files! Who put all this junk in here?

So, it’s been a big day of trying to update all my machines. Normally this shouldn’t be a big deal, but it would seem I’ve been ignorning that little notification in the system tray that updates are available. I rarely reboot my machines so I need to plan for these upodates. Well, that ideology has bitten me in the ass. One of my machines need 1100MB worth of updates. No, that’s not a typo, 1GB worth of updates. Another machine needed over 600MB worth of updates and yet a third needed over 500MB. It makes you wonder just what in the hell is broken with Windows if it needs to update and replace that many files. How unstable is a new install of Windows anyway? I’ve also come to the realization that I need to completely reorder ALL my drives. I have so much space and so many files that I’m losing things and have files spread all over the […]

Assetto Corsa on Sale for 50% Off at Steam

Steam has several sales going on right now and one of them is Asstto Corsa, which you can put up for 50% Off – $19.99. I thought the game was a good deal at $23 when I bought my copy and now the price is even lower. The game is still in Early Access, but it’s constantly changing, evolving and upgrading. At first it was just one car and one track. Now, we have multiple tracks and dozens of cars. And those cars look amazing! From the notes on the latest update it looks like there’s now fuel consumption, tire damage, car damage, improved controller support, adjusted traction and loads of other features. I really need to get back behind the wheel and practice my braking and turning. I think this will be an amazing game when it’s done. The AI cars are going to give us a run for our money in this game. This is going to be […]

Big Sale on 2K Games at Steam

The sales just keep on coming and this time around the 2K Games catalog is up for grabs. You can save up to 75% on their titles such as Civilization V, Bioshock, Borderlands and XCOM. This also includes all the DLC available for each game. I think I’m going to scoop up Bioshock Infinite and the Season Pass. That’s a damn good deal for $10. The main page only lists a couple of games, in order to get to the other deals like Ace Patrol, Mafia and Duke Nukem you need to click one of the games and click the 2K Games publisher link. You’ll then get a list of everything they offer on Steam. It’s a good time to grab the DLC. The sale runs until August 24th, so you have some time to scrape together some coins and get some new games. 2K Games sale at Steam
