Not everything is different between Windows and Mac

I’m still trying to get the hang of this new environment, but I have noticed that some thing remain the same. Firefox and the plugins are still the same so that’s comforting. Roboform feels quite familiar. I don’t know why we’re using it, but Skype looks and feels pretty similar too.

I have noticed there’s not a heck of a Right-Click action going on within the Mac. I’m so used to it that I get nervous when it doesn’t pop up. Is the program broken? Did it not register? No, just not available. I have to use the menus to see what options are available. Feels a little strange.

Since I use ObjectDock on Windows, the Launcher at the bottom feels pretty familiar to me. I’m a little confused over the Minimize/Maximize of windows, but I’m starting to get the hang of it. And yes, having those buttons on the opposite side does throw me off a little.

The Alt-Tab function is still there, but this time around it’s the Command-Tab function. I sometimes get confused as to where and app is and that gets me out of the soup. Of course, I have no idea where files are being stored, but I’ll eventually figure it out. And hey, that triple click still works!

So far, I think the MacBook Pro is a pretty sweet piece of hardware. It seems to run pretty fast and the display is quite nice. I’m a newbie at this, but things are going too badly so far. I have a long way to go before even claiming to be proficient and I haven’t done any serious work with it yet, but progress is being made.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
