Teleportation and Artificial Organs can’t stop me in Plague Inc

So I’m starting to get my pestilence spreading rhythm back as I smash through both the Teleportation and Artificial Organ Scenarios in Plague Inc. It’s not that I just got them done in my usual lackluster style of achieving 1 biohazard as the rank, I managed to get 3 biohazards for my effort. Even with the ability for people to run away and hide using their teleporters, I was able to send my fastest ships full of contagion and deliver a care package right to their door. Lots of people chose Greenland as their safe haven which is fine for the short term, but once I get ya, you’re doomed! Which is exactly what happened. I was able to get the Transmission and Symptom vectors going so quickly that the disease spread and killed everyone off before the Cure efforts could even got off the ground. I managed to end the game with 0% Cure. I also accumulated so many […]

I Am Black Death – Plague Inc

So, this Scenario took me longer to complete than I thought mainly because Greenland, New Zealand, Madagascar and a couple other fringe countries wouldn’t play nice and bow down to my whim. But, with a little perseverance I managed to get the Black Plague to spread across the globe, even into these far off nooks and crannies and bring humanity to it’s knees and then put it face down in the dirt. Normally a bacteria level is fairly easy to complete, but Black Death has a couple of tricks. First, you need to unlock Symptoms and Transmissions evolving the Pneumonic Plague and Septemic Plague. Without these you really won’t get far and that also threw me off the first round. Once those are unlocked you really need to work on Transmission and in my opinion Water. This bacteria spreads fast so airports shut down early on, but boat ports remain open. I doubled up on the Water Transmission and threw […]

Spreading Holiday Cheer Far and Near with the Neurax Worm in Plague Inc

You don’t have to live in Whoville to be the Holiday Cheermeister, you can spread love and joy using the Neurax Worm! Since I’m doing so poorly with the Simian virus, I thought I would check out the Scenarios and see what sort of damage I could cause. The first scenario is to spread holiday cheer using mind control. Oh, this could be fun! Well now, the Transmission, Symptoms and Abilities screen certainly look different don’t they? There is no bleeding from the eyes, or leaking from naughty places, it’s been replaced with the ability to sing songs and spread the joy through selfies. It was actually a little disorienting, I wasn’t sure what to do. I guess I’ll start spreading the cheer through snowballs and see how it goes. I have to say, it was pretty damn amusing. The goal was to get the borders back open and get people all full of joy so they wouldn’t want a […]

Bio-Weapon Unleashed – Society Crumbles in Plague Inc

So I was off once again to cause as much havoc and destruction to humanity as I possibly could and this time with the Bio-Weapon. I tried this a couple of times without success, but then I realized mu mistake.  This virus gets worse and worse as time progresses, so I needed to control the severity as it eradicated all the hosts before I was done. People were dropping like flies and it was all over too quickly. Once the plague was in full swing, then it was time to turn up the heat. I used the Transmission vehicles of Air and Water until it was a Bioaerosol and kept heading over to the Abilities screen to use Gene Compression to keep things in check. Of course this is the good part of the tree since the ultimate goal is to reach the Annihilate Gene. Everyone was infected pretty easily and once I flicked the switch, it was lights out […]

Why is Daemon Tools Lite triggering Norton Internet Security Anti-Virus?

At first, I thought Daemon Tools Lite was a pretty damn good find. It was small, usable, cheap and had plenty of functionality. I still think the program is a good one, but I have reservations now since my AV software is triggering the installer as having plenty of malware inside. After downloading the latest version DTLite501-0406, Norton became quite angry and wanted to remove the entire archive saying it had "Open Candy" inside. What is that you ask? OpenCandy is a potentially unwanted application that includes offers for additional third-party applications during the installation process of legitimate applications. Which doesn’t sound that bad, plenty of apps out there offer to install Chrome or toolbars and other things. Normally you just click No and go about your business. That might not be the end of it from Daemon Tools. Looks like it leaves a bunch of crap behind even if you say no to these offers. Looks like a couple […]
