Wireshare – Document Reader, Multi-Format Video Player, Music Player, Photo Gallery
I was checking out some apps that would play different video file formats as well as let me read different kinds of documents, who knew it would be the same app that let me accomplish both. I stumbled on Wireshare which reads the usual document formats like PDF and TXT, but also handles Docx and ePub. Ok, this has my interest, but it didn’t stop there, the video file formats supported included AVI, FLV, and WMV. Whoa now! So I can get the a lot of the power of Goodreader and VLC in the same package? Yes please!
In fact, the list of supported files looks a little something like this:

Over the weekend I put Wireshare through it’s paces. I transferred over some video files to see if they would play. I connected to Dropbox and loaded in some documents. I extracted some audio from a couple of video files and transferred those over. Every one of them played without issue. In fact, the WiFi transfer was just about perfect and my files went sailing over without incident. I think I sent 20 files in a single batch and all of them were received without error.
Wireshare organizes files by 4 broad categories like Document, Music, Video and Photo, but you can make all sorts of folders to group files together your own way. You can also move, copy, delete and zip files together. You also get the Open In functionality if you have other programs that can open the file types. With all that I was able to read part of a document, switch over to a video and back to the document without having to switch apps. Further, there is a built in web browser so you don’t have to jump out to check something on a web site. Wireshare is seriously a full featured app.
AirDisk Pro has been my GoTo App when I want to transfer and play files and even though it only uses the built in file viewers, it has worked like a champ. Goodreader has been my other GoTo App for reading different document types. Wireshare takes that ease of use and goes a couple of steps further. It can easily transfer and store files, but Wireshare also has the ability to play all of them. I don’t need to switch apps to play that foreign file type or read that ePub I just converted. That is damn impressive. You won’t be able to go all crazy and annotate that PDF crossways to Sunday, but it does just about everything else.
If you need a document reader, video player, music player WiFi transfer and web browser all in one, then I highly recommend getting a copy of Wireshare. It’s a great app and I’ve already started loaded dozens of files into it.
