Paprika for iPad, Windows and Mac – Easy to catalog recipes, shopping list and now a big discount

Since we’re in the full swing of the holiday season, it’s appropriate to bring up another stellar iOS app that has both Windows and Mac equivalents. Paprika is a recipe box app that I bought a few years ago. In fact, I think I picked up a copy within a day or two of it’s initial release. For some strange reason, recipe apps were all but nonexistent for the iPad, which just struck me as odd since the iPad is a perfect cooking companion. Paprika stepped in with the ability to create a recipe database. It was basically just a shell to give you a place to store ingredients and instructions. On the surface it seemed far to simple, but in reality it was incredibly flexible and powerful. We now jump ahead a couple of years and not only has the app grown more powerful, there are now versions that run on most platforms. And like Notebooks, Paprika looks and […]

Notebooks for iPad, Windows and Mac – Good apps, Nice discount

So, back at the end of 2010, I got a newcomer notetaking app called Notebooks for iPad. I was desperately looking for something that came close to the power and usability of OneNote, which is still my favorite writing app. Notebooks for iPad turned out to be a great find and not only do I still have it installed, I still use it on a regular basis. While I still think OneNote is the unsung hero of the Office Suite, there are some issues. It’s only been recently that Microsoft has done any serious work on OneNote for iPad and even then, it’s not exactly thrilling. Also, OneNote has only recently broken free from Office and not can you easily get it standalone, but it’s now free. While this is excellent news, the .One format isn’t exactly the easiest thing to work with. Only OneNote can read it. It’s not like a .Doc file that anything more powerful than Notepad […]

Todo – To-Do & Task List by Appigo on sale for $0.99

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything about iPad apps, but this one is worth mentioning. I bought ToDo for my original iPad quite a few years and it has been in use ever since. I use it mark appointments, create reminders, plan events and especially keep track of when my monthly bills are due. It’s simple to use but has great features. You can create folders and set up all sorts of items. Each item can have text or notes associated with it as well as reminders and other flags. It also syncs with Dropbox so items can sync between devices. It works the same as an appointment book, just nowhere near as big, bulky or expensive. Personally, I like the previous visual design better since it actually looked like a small binder. The new look conforms with how the cool kids want their apps to look, so what are you going to do. I’ve been using the previous […]

Save 60% on everything during the O&O Cyber Monday Week

So there are plenty of Defrag and Internet cache cleaning tools out there, but if you don’t already have something in your toolbox, then O&O is offering a sweet deal. You can pick up their highly usable Defrag tool or go All-In and grab a PowerPack which features Defrag, SafeErase, DiskImage and AutoBackup. Since I already have CCleaner Professional Plus, I’m covered on most fronts, however, the PowerPack is still a great bundle since you get O&O DiskImage which I use to make an image of my C:\ drive on a weekly basis and AutoBackup which I use to sync external hard drives. The PowerPack is a 3 computer license so that’s nice. If you want to just grab an individual product, you still get 60% off. If you don’t have it, I would say invest in O&O DiskImage. It works extremely well, and I’ve used it to restore a failed drive and was back up and running pretty quickly. […]

Pumpkin Pie Bakery Limited Time Building (LTB) – Building Payout and Upgrade Cost – Crime City

The Pumpkin Pie Bakery is well underway and now that Gree(d) has pulled a thumb out of their backside, the game is playable again. While this new item has a small footprint, it has terrible IPH and the return on investment is pretty piss poor. To fully upgrade this building will cost over $32 Billion and yield $24 Million every 14 hours. That means it costs an utter fortune and is more than likely going to get robbed once per day. Even with modifiers, the building doesn’t get much better. Of course I have two of them upgrading, that’s just what I do. But this isn’t going to contribute much to IPH. The reward for completing each upgrade is the Pyrotechnic Pie – Atk 403,800  Def 100,900  +1% Explosive Attack. Again, another weapon with reasonable Atk, but useless Def. Attack is so lopsided these days it’s becoming laughable. When are we going to get some top heavy Defense items? Anyway, […]
