Bio-Weapon Unleashed – Society Crumbles in Plague Inc

So I was off once again to cause as much havoc and destruction to humanity as I possibly could and this time with the Bio-Weapon. I tried this a couple of times without success, but then I realized mu mistake.  This virus gets worse and worse as time progresses, so I needed to control the severity as it eradicated all the hosts before I was done. People were dropping like flies and it was all over too quickly. Once the plague was in full swing, then it was time to turn up the heat. I used the Transmission vehicles of Air and Water until it was a Bioaerosol and kept heading over to the Abilities screen to use Gene Compression to keep things in check. Of course this is the good part of the tree since the ultimate goal is to reach the Annihilate Gene. Everyone was infected pretty easily and once I flicked the switch, it was lights out […]

Why is Daemon Tools Lite triggering Norton Internet Security Anti-Virus?

At first, I thought Daemon Tools Lite was a pretty damn good find. It was small, usable, cheap and had plenty of functionality. I still think the program is a good one, but I have reservations now since my AV software is triggering the installer as having plenty of malware inside. After downloading the latest version DTLite501-0406, Norton became quite angry and wanted to remove the entire archive saying it had "Open Candy" inside. What is that you ask? OpenCandy is a potentially unwanted application that includes offers for additional third-party applications during the installation process of legitimate applications. Which doesn’t sound that bad, plenty of apps out there offer to install Chrome or toolbars and other things. Normally you just click No and go about your business. That might not be the end of it from Daemon Tools. Looks like it leaves a bunch of crap behind even if you say no to these offers. Looks like a couple […]

Humanity falls victim to my Nano-Virus in Plague Inc

After my hard fought and completely satisfying eradication of humanity with the Necroa Virus, I took up the mantle to decimate mankind with the Nano-Virus. Things really went according to play and it didn’t take me weeks of trying. My first attempt didn’t quite hit the mark as Greenland played it’s usual game of hard to get and remained the last outpost of survivors. Ah, but like a lot of things, my second time was much better and everyone fell in line and then just fell. I take great satisfaction in seeing that red ship make port on their shores. The pace is slow in the beginning and I took the route of slowing the kill code. I hacked the frequency then pushed for more Cold and Heat resistance. For Transmssions I went with Air, Water and Blood. I also added the Drug Resistance and went with all the Symptoms I could get my hands on. Those people were leaking […]

Humanity Eradicated by the Necroa Virus in Plague Inc

I did it! I finally did it! After weeks of trying and nearly a million attempts (well not really a million, I exaggerated just a touch) I finally wiped out all humanity, turned everyone into zombies and completed the Necroa Virus level. Oh my goodness, what a sense of accomplishment that is! I haven’t had this much trouble with any of the previous levels. I admit, I had to look for help online and finally found a combo that would get the job done. Lots of people claim they can get this level done, but all the previous attempts have failed for one reason or another. Mind you, I’ve been 95%+ successful on each try and humanity has barely escaped my wrath. Little pockets of humanity have held on like Madagascar or some other remote island out in the middle of nowhere. But not this time. Oh no. I found each and every one of them. This last round was […]

Dirt 3 Complete Edition without GFWL and an endurance run in Grid Autosport

So there’s a new version of Dirt 3 roaming around on Steam and it’s completely devoid of the unnecessary and quite frankly, useless, Games for Windows Live (GFWL) service. For those of us on the Desktop, GFWL is just an annoyance and yet another hoop (service) you need to jump through just to play a game. Seems the folks at Codemasters agree and they’ve finally completed the work of ripping GFWL out of Dirt 3. I wish they would do the same for Dirt 2. And don’t tell me Dirt 2 is too old, it’s still a hell of a lot of fun and still looks good. I have the "other" version of Dirt 3 so imagine my surprise when I see the Complete Edition sitting in my Steam account. Not only do we get this new edition at no charge, it comes with all the DLC. Well color me impressed and hand over that game controller because we’re going […]
