Stardock Discount Code – 50% Off – STARDOCK50

Here’s a little Thanksgiving treat for you. Stardock is offering a pretty hefty 50% off coupon good for ALL their products. This can be used for games, individual products as well as renewals and themes. This can be used to get an ObjectDesktop subscription or it can be used to get cool programs like WindowsBlinds or Start8, programs that are really a must have to fix the hideous UI elements of the Metro UI in Windows 8. Just add the items to your cart and use STARDOCK50 as the coupon code. You’re good to go. I have Windowblinds and Start8 on my laptop for Windows 8 and it covers up that terrible UI and gives you something much better to work with. Too bad Microsoft doesn’t just stuff Windowblinds in the OS, it would make things a lot easier on all of us.

Wild Turkey Saloon Limited Time Building (LTB) – Building Payout and Upgrade Cost – Crime City

The newest LTB is out, the Wild Turkey Saloon, which will cost you $50 million to buy and comes with a payout of $159,033 and collects every 6 hours. The initial cost isn’t too bad and compared to some of the other buildings we’ve had thrown at us, some would say this is cheap. The payout time of 6 hours has some people frustrated since this rascal is prone to getting looted in the deep hours of the night. If you max it out, that $11 million is an easy target. However, if you manage to collect this 3 times a day, $33 million isn’t a bad deal. To upgrade this all the way is $12 Billion or a little over $6 Billion if you have modifiers. Conversely, if you have all the IPH modifiers you might get close to $19 million every 6 hours. And what do you get for the trouble? The Turkey Day Float which has 26,650 […]

Time to Upgrade to Audials One 12 Just $19

The new version of Audials One has been out for awhile, but I haven’t jumped to the upgrade yet mostly because I’ve been waiting for a sale. The $39 upgrade price that the Audials site offers isn’t bad, certainly better than the $80 for a new copy, but that’s still a bit steep for me. Well, the waiting is over. Avanquest has come out with an offer to upgrade to Audials One 12 for a mere $19. You can’t for a lot more than that can you? In case you were wondering, Audials One is a pretty impressive Swiss Army Knife when it comes to digital media. It’s a combination of Audials MovieBox, TuneBite and RadioTracker. But it does more than just play music, videos and tune into radio stations. You can just as easily record music from sites like Pandora and Grooveshark, download videos from YouTube and extract the audio track as an MP3 and you can capture video […]

Behind the wheel of a fast automobile – Grid Autosport

Grid Autosport was on sale the other day and it was too tempting a deal to pass up. I’ve got Grid and Grid 2 from Steam as well as Dirt 2, 3 and Showdown and they’re all a hell of a lot of fun to play. Grid Autosport seemed to cause a divide though. Was it too arcade or was it too much simulation? I found it to be wildly entertaining! It is far less arcade style than the previous Grid games and is more closely aligned with the experience you get in F1 2013 or F1 2013. I spent almost all of my time in the Touring discipline and it’s quite challenging. It’s not easy to get and hold a high position in a race. Small mistakes will cost you a ton of time and wildly slinging the car with complete disregard for damage won’t get you anywhere. I saw my chance for an overtake in a tight turn […]

Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons not visible in Firefox with WindowBlinds

I’m setting up a new machine and have Firefox 33 installed with WindowBlinds 8. Problem is, the TitleBar goes transparent and the Minimize, Maximize and Close buttons all disappear for the application. Sometimes when you hover over them the button appears for a moment, but it won’t stay there. Even if you add an Exception inside WindowBlinds the problem is still there. This is an issue I’ve run into a couple a times and it’s so stupidly annoying. However, there is a simple fix. In Firefox, right-click near the Address bar and click Customize. You can also click View -> Toolbars -> Customize At the bottom of the screen and over to the left, click the Title Bar button Click Exit Customize and the buttons will now appear correctly You can also try changing the Browser Theme to something other than the default. Changing this around also seems to fix some issues with Tab transparency.
