Mad Cow Disease runs rampant in the town of Banished

I’m still recovering from my staggering and still  unexplained loss of food which has lead to much death from starvation and then to add insult to injury I became victim of mad cow disease. I was really excited to get enough stone and iron together to buy 3 cows and was even more excited when they multiplied into 7. I now had beef and leather – all good things. But nothing lasts forever and as you can see by the screenshot, a mysterious fog engulfed my pasture and killed the entire herd. If there’s a way to combat the disease I don’t know what it is. I doubt the Herbalist works on a bovine population. So another setback for my people. But I will overcome. I’ve already replaced the cattle with sheep, so now we have wool for warm coats. I also have another pasture for chickens. Even with all this, as well as 2 more Fishing Docks, I can’t […]

Snack Attack Limited Time Building (LTB) Payout and Upgrade Cost – Crime City

The new LTB the Snack Attack is out, but there appears to be a lack of information about. There are bits and pieces about the cost and payout, but nothing solid. With that in mind here is some preliminary information about the Payout and Upgrade costs. It’s a big building with an initial cost of $30 million, a payout of $195,313, every 12 hours. The prize at each level of completion is the Swell Slicer atk:20081 Def: 24542 +1% Mafia Defense. That should be affordable to most people and the weapon is pretty decent. However, don’t be fooled. You’re going to need gold to finish this one off and reach level 10. Gree, wouldn’t make it that easy for us. Without any modifiers the total cost of the building will be around $7.5 Billion with an income of $5.5 million. That is a serious investment for cash for a pretty slight return. This is good to get your IPH started, […]

More chickens! More food! More resources! A major setback in Banished

I’ve been enjoying Banished ever since I bought it in the Steam sale. This is turning out to be one of my favorite games. However, I’ve started to suffer a major setback! Just the other day I had a nice surplus of food, but now my citizens seem to be going through food like they have parasites. (Perhaps they do, is that part of the game?) I had 3 storage barns full of food and now everything is gone. All the fish, the venison, the roots, herbs and potatoes are all gone. I’m now getting a steady stream of death notices that my people have died from starvation. The cemetery is full and people are constantly foraging for food, so much so, no work is getting done. I’m trying to stem the tide, but I don’t know if I’ll make it in time. I have 2 fisheries running and trying to build a third. I just bought some more chickens […]

I’ve now added Cattle to my list of livestock in Banished

I’ve been extremely busy in Banished trying my best to get enough resources to keep my little village moving. I’ve done a good job of getting wood and after stripping the earth for Stone and Iron, I took the big plunge and made a Quarry and an Iron Mine. Since the major commodity is stone and iron, I desperately need more of it. Of course, these are the two most dangerous occupations in the game so I fully expect people are going to get crushed and suffocated. Hopefully, I won’t lose too many citizens over it. But, I did manage to store enough iron and stone to buy cattle from the merchant. I started off with 3 chickens and I now have 19 in my pasture so I bought 3 cattle so I can raise a decent herd. I believe the cattle yields both beef and leather. My population isn’t very high, but I feel I’m making significant progress in […]
