Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium at BitsDuJour

BitsDuJour is having a sale on the Premium Edition of MalwareBytes. This is a pretty awesome program and I have it running on my gaming machine. The definition database is always up to date and it does a great job of blocking sites, both incoming and outgoing. With all the advertising you see on all the webpages you visit, who knows what’s going on in the background. You can’t be sure of what sort of drive-by nonsense is going on when you’re just looking for a book or movie review or song lyrics. You need more than AV. MalwareBytes is an excellent choice and $14.97 for a yearly subscription is really good. That’s just a touch over a dollar a month. You can afford that. This is a 12 month subscription, not the lifetime license that BitsDuJour and MalwareBytes have offered in the past, but, those sorts of subscriptions don’t last forever. SuperAntiSpyware, my other spyware choice, offere Lifetime upgrade, […]

Norton Internet Security 2012 Drops in Price – $20.98

NIS 2012 has dropped in price yet again. The price has dropped to below $21 and that’s far cheaper than any other site, including the Norton/Symantec site even with a coupon. This is the 3 PC version, which means you can protect multiple machines with the same license. You can either get the digital version and download it immediately, or buy the CD and keep it for later. I bought the CD version so I can use the key next year when I need to subscribe again. Norton Internet Security 2012 – 3 Users [Download] Norton Internet Security 2012 – 1 User / 3 PC

Malware infiltrates the work environment

Looks like something has snuck into our corporate computers. I’ve heard a couple people complain about machines behaving poorly and random websites opening. You know, I’m not even sure what the hell we use for AV. Apparently it’s not that good. I just bought a copy of SuperAntiSpyware for $20. That’s the lifetime license. That should keep the evildoers at bay. If you haven’t bought a copy, I seriously recommend it. It has a funny name, but it does a damn good job. $20 for a lifetime license? Yeah, that works for me. Got my Rush tickets! Ticketmaster had another presale. Tickets should be pretty good, they cost me enough. But hey, that’s the cost of being a fan some times. Should be a fun show, and right before Halloween too. At least it won’t be stinking hot! By the way, I’ve been watching a lot of excellent bike racing on YouTube. There are some great clips up there. 25% off Norton Internet Security 2012 or Norton 360 v6.0

I don’t know why Norton/Symantec does it this way, but it’s always cheaper to buy a new version of their app rather go through the renewal process. Norton Internet Security 2012 costs nearly $50, but you can buy a new copy from Amazon for $27. How does that make sense? In reality, I’m not buying a new version, I’m just extending the amount of time I can download virus definitions. It’s not like they’re actually "giving" me anything when I renew. But oh well, their choice. If it’s cheaper to buy the program again then so be it. And that’s where we are, renewal time again. It’s time to keep the anti-virus apps up to date and keep the flaming toilet papers rolls of the Internet away from my machine. The Internet is not a Superhighway. It’s a pothole ridden backroad with ruts and ill-tempered dogs that want to eat you. It can be an ugly place. Prevention is the […]
