Grave Encounters – Wacky parody with lots of thrills

Lance Preston and the crew of “Grave Encounters”, a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena has been reported for years. All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera. They quickly realize that the building is more than just haunted – it is alive – and it has no intention of ever letting them leave. They find themselves lost in a labyrinth maze of endless hallways and corridors, terrorized by the ghosts of the former patients. They soon begin to question their own sanity, slipping deeper and deeper into the depths of madness, ultimately discovering the truth behind the hospital’s dark past…and taping what turns out to be their final episode. What grabbed me about this movie was that is sounded exactly like the set up for Ghost Adventures. A small team […]

Ambience By Urban Apps – A very nice way to relax and get some peace

A week ago I downloaded the Ambience app so I could listen to “nature” sounds and drown out the noises for my servers, the AC, dogs and all the other sounds you magically hear when you’re trying to go sleep. So far, it’s been working like a charm. It’s very similar to the Audiobooks apps in that you pay for the player and it hooks into the freesound.org site and lets you browse and download tons of sound files. I’ve been listening to rainstorms for the past couple of nights. Regardless of what’s going on outside, in my little world there is a thunderstorm brewing. It has a lot of other tracks too like the sound of the ocean, birds, crackling fires, chants, wind and wind chimes. I have to say the library is pretty vast. There are a couple of paid files you can download, but those are only $0.99 so it doesn’t incur my wrath. I grabbed this […]

Google releases Blogger client for iTunes

Looks like Google has finally made a Blogger client for iOS. Too bad, it’s made for the iPhone rather than a Universal app. Seems like you would make it for the iPad as well since that’s far better as a blog tool than the phone. Sure the phone is convenient, but how hard would it have been to get it right and make it for both? See, it’s oversights like this that keep me from being a fan of Blogger. That and the absolute crap admin UI it’s been sporting for the past 5 years. Blogger for iTunes
