Speak to me iPad!

I just had one hell of a scare, I thought the iPad had died on me. I’m so used to having it turn on when I click the button that when nothing happened I nearly ruined a perfectly good pair of pants. The screen stayed dark and there was no "slide to unlock" action. Egad! This never happens, what the hell do I do? I thought the battery might have died, but it had 75% this morning when I check my feeds. It couldn’t have died that quick. Oh my lord, what do you do when the iPad won’t turn on? Well, you turn it off. You hold the buttons, wait 10 seconds and the device will shut off. Give it a few seconds and it will start back up. It worked! The iPad is back up and running and all seems well. How funny that such a small glitch causes such terror. I just expect the iPad to work. […]

Boxee for the iPad?

This is something I’ll have to look into. I’m currently using Air Video, which is fantastic and easy to use. I’d be curious to see how Boxee stacks up against it.I think Air Video is the best $3 I’ve spent in the App Store.

Damn you IE!

I started a new job with a Microsoft shop and as you may expect IE is the default browser. And, as you may expect, I hate the damn thing. I kicked IE6 to the curb years ago after Microsoft had decided it didn’t need to update it anymore. I jumped on board the new Firefox 2 with tabbed browsing and dozens of other cool features. I’ve never looked back. There’s just so much I don’t like. I miss my plguins. I don’t like the layout. And quite frankly I’ve just never been that big of a fan of IE. It wasn’t bad when it was pitted against Netscape, even though I thought Netscape was in fact the better browser. But now compared to the features and extensibility of the host of other browsers out there IE just seems lacking.
