Choose Your Own Adventure is Alive and Well

Here’s something very interesting, I just saw an article that Tin Man Games is grabbing more titles for their Choose Your Own Adventure series. I have all their books, but sadly, haven’t actually completed a single one. I need to do that. But the main point is that CYOA is alive and well and makes me want to write one even more. Interestingly, I looked at Amazon and found out all their CYOA books are available for free in Kindle format for Prime members. Damn! Check that out! I can get them myself to see if I can emulate one. I’d still love to write an HTML based version.

Norton Internet Security 2012

NIS 2012 has just dropped in price, again. It’s a mere $23 for the complete box. You can also buy a downloadable copy. My subscription is just about to expire too. I thought $30 was a damn good deal for this software. This is way lower than I would have expected. I’m going to get the boxes version so I have the bootable CD, you never know when you might need something like that. You can grab a copy from Amazon. Norton Internet Security 2012

Radio Alarm Clock HD – $0.99

I just added this app to Appshopper last night and here it is on sale today for $0.99. This is the app that looks like the old style radio, has an MP3 player, alarm clock and supports Shoutcast. Pretty sweet deal for $0.99. These Internet Radio Stations have me all excited. There is just so much to listen to out there. But hey, this is a cool app with lots of features. And don’t forget, there’s TuneIn Radio as well. Both are $0.99 Radio Alarm Clock HD for $0.99 TuneIn Radio Pro – $0.99

50,000 Shoutcast stations and counting

I’ve been completely taken by surprise. There’s something like 50,000 Internet radio stations out there. I spent hours just typing in random topics and artists just to see what I’d get back. I’m stunned at the results. I listened to Darkness Radio and their trip to Romania. I have a hard time believing any of their ghostly tales, but it was still very interesting and entertaining. I’d be up for a trip to Romania. I think I’m on a to a pretty decent Alarm Clock Radio, MP3 player and Shoutcast player. It has the very generic sounding name of Alarm Clock Radio HD. It looks like an old radio and has lots of features. There is another app, TuneIn Radio, which looks awesome as well. It hooks into Shoutcast and Podcasts from a single app. That’s a hell of a lot of entertainment right there. And for $0.99? This might be what I’ve been looking for. I also broke down […]

Shoutcast, you interest me

I’m not sure how I ended up here, but I’ve been messing around with the Shoutcast channels in Winamp. I messed with this stuff years ago and it never really piqued my curiosity. But that was then and now we have tens of thousands of channels out there. I was completely unaware. Now there is everything you can think of from sports, to paranormal, to stations dedicated to a single band (Rush), comedy, Classical and everything in between. I really have some exploring to do. Shoutcast is great on Winamp, now let’s see what we can find for the iPad.
