How about the new Kindle Fire HD 8.9?

I keep look at the new Fire HD and it has my interest. Now I keep toying with the idea of buying the 8.9 inch model. I like the size of the new Fire and the price is pretty reasonable for a 32GB model. Amazon is making some nice strides with their tablets. I still don’t think they will achieve the same level of success as the Apple iPad until they open up their App Store. There simply aren’t enough Kindle apps and you can’t install outside of Amazon. I don’t like that. Even though they have upped the resolution of the screen and watching movies would be better on the new model, I’m not sure if it’s worth an upgrade from the current fire. Ya know, I seem to have some sort of tablet envy going on here…

No problems in selling out the iPad Mini

People thought the price was an issue, but not enough to be a problem it seems. The white model is already gone and I have no doubt the slate is right behind. There were plenty to be had yesterday and even this morning you could pick either. How strange the white model is selling out first. The white iPad 2 didn’t seem to garner all that much favor and I don’t see many white iPad 3’s. So why is the white iPad Mini so popular?

It seems bigger than the Fire, but do I really need another iPad? Maybe I would be better off with the LTE model. Or should I just shut the hell up and stop buying tablets. There is always the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 model in November…

Here comes the iPad Mini

Apple unveiled the new iPad and I have to say, I have mixed feelings. It looks pretty neat, but I’m not entirely sure I understand the point. I haven’t seen one in person obviously, but the form factor looks better than the Kindle Fire. That thing is too damn heavy for it’s size and is awkward to hold for extended periods. Is the iPad Mini something I need? It looks like a direct competitor to the Fire so I can’t say I would really use it. It might not be a bad idea to have that at my side instead of the iPad 3 to save some space. If it plays all the same iPad games, it could make for an interesting game console. When they first mentioned the iPad, the Mini is what I actually envisioned. I thought it would be a just a larger version of the Touch. I had expected the Mini to come first, the full […]
