Crime City – I need just one more Tank Key!

Oh come on! I just need one more key to hit 10 and get the next weapon. It’s been two days and I’ve only gotten 4 more keys. I’ve opened about 20 boxes in that time (using cash) but can’t get to the next level. Man, this is frustrating! The Top 250 has already rounded the corner without me. Guess I will just have to go back to harvesting cash.

Crime City Military Case Event

We have another event underway, this time for Tank Keys. I’ve made a good start and have managed to snag 5 of them to get the sharpened utility knife. We’ll see how long it takes for me to get the next 5. Based on my previous performance, my hit rate was like 1 in 10. I managed to fair pretty well with the last events so maybe I have a fighting chance in this one. I know I would do better if I spent the gold, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. I’m saving that for the Christmas buildings. Speaking of, my Gobble Buffets are almost completely upgraded. The final push to level 10 will finish today. The Haunted Mansions are another matter. The upgrades may be free, but it’s taking forever to finish those off. I won’t have those finished until after Christmas judging by my progress so far.

And the Microsoft Hits just keep on coming

Microsoft Security Essentials loses it’s Certification. It comes in with a whopping score of 10.5 out of 18. It got a staggering 1.5 points for protection. That’s simply shocking. You might as well use nothing and free up the resources of this piece of crap. Norton Internet Security comes in 3rd spot with 15 out of 18. That makes me feel pretty confident the $20 a year I spend on protection is worth the effort. Like I said, you get what you pay for, and Free software isn’t always worth it. Also, the blame game for Windows 8 is in full swing. OEMs are saying it’s not their fault Windows 8 sales are sluggish. I find that highly amusing. The OS is the lowest priced update Microsoft has ever put out the door and still people are cool to it. A copy of Windows 7 Pro is $160. A copy of Windows 8 Pro is $65. They can’t even give […]

Surface Sales may take off… Someday… Maybe…

Microsoft is still struggling to make a splash with the Surface. Sales are sluggish, the blame game has begun and app support is anemic. Sales haven’t hit a million units yet and there is doubt they will. The Surface isn’t being adopted and neither is Windows 8. I’ve seen the Surface and while I don’t think it’s too bad, I don’t see the point. Microsoft doesn’t seem to understand the difference between a tablet and a laptop. The Surface is simply a laptop crammed into a different case, but yet it can’t do all the things a laptop can do. Like Microsoft itself, it’s confused about what it wants to be… Surface Sales May Surge to 1 Million Units in 2012

Snapseed by Nik Software – Free for Today

I really don’t know anything about this app, but any camera app that’s free for the iPad has my interest. Not to mention this is by Nik software and they make some great plugins for Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. I don’t know if this is any better than the Camera+ for iPad app I bought just the other day, but I’m anxious to check it out. It provides the ability to take photos, Saturate, Crop and do other manipulations. That sounds like a good deal to me. And for the price of free, you really can’t object. Snapseed by Nik Software
