Massive Website Audit

Here is an interesting tidbit, I used CoffeeCup Sitemapper to do a an audit of every link on a couple of sites. Turns out, there were multiple problems. I had IIS config problems, broken links, missing HTML files, pages that didn’t load, links that went nowhere and a few other problems. I even saw that a few of pages were malformed because of improper HTML code. I’d left off the opening or closing bracket and the page rendered rather poorly. I wish I would have used this earlier. Sitemapper actually goes through every link and gives you a status report for those links. It’s pretty damn thorough and quite enlightening. You normally use a Sitemapper to create an HTML version of your site, but I used it just to see if everything worked. Turns out, I have some broke ass sites. I bought this tool awhile back at a really discounted price. Seems I need to use it a little […]

Good Lord, is this the Winchester House?

For reasons that make no difference, I went with the in-laws to go look at a house they are considering buying. Turns out it’s a house owned by some PTL members who have since passed on. The house is a complete maze! And that is no joke. It was a massive structure and you would open a door, enter a room, open a door, enter a room, open a door and enter yet another room. What the hell is going on here? It’s like an episode of Scooby-Doo in there! I damn near got lost while looking around. I’ve never seen a house like that before. Rooms opened up to room and kept going. Makes me a little suspicious of what went on down there. Don’t ask, don’t tell.

Start of the end of the year

To me, this is basically the end of the year. Halloween is right around the corner, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas and then it’s all over. Things will start happening fast and furious from here on out. Just getting ready for Halloween is going to take all my efforts. Just watching all these horror movies, American Horror Story and 666 Park Avenue will take all my time for the month.

Time for the cabin in the woods

Not that Cabin in the Woods, my cabin in the woods. Time for a long weekend amongst the trees and the quiet. No phone, no lights, no motor car, not a single luxury. Wait, it’s not quite that bad. Go Go Gadget Go Kart!! Now, where did I put that big bottle of Crystal Head Vodka?

Big Gold Sale for Crime City HD

It goes against everything I normally, but Crime City is having a 40% off sale on gold and cash as an in-app purchase. Now, I hate in-app purchases, I think it’s a pathetic way to fleece people out of money. Gameloft and EA have become notorious for making substandard games and then charging people to advance within the game. That’s total crap. Let’s Golf 3 is a prime example of example of how NOT to make a game. Crime City is different though. I wish they would just let me buy the game outright, but you can’t do that. Since I’ve been playing this game for months now and I see no signs of stopping, I decided to buy some gold to reward the devs for the game. This has become one of my favorite games. I actually find the gameplay to work very well. I like the idea of buying a building and waiting for it to complete. I […]
