Smoked Fowl Deli Limited Time Building LTB – Crime City

Along with the hectic new Syndicate event we have the brand new Smoked Fowl Deli Limited Time Building (LTB). This appeared almost as soon as the To Die for Designs LTB event completed. This new building has a footprint of 5×7, an initial cost of $30 million and a collection rate of $193,662, every 11 hours. The initial weapons upgrades are pretty nice and first couple of upgrades costs are pretty reasonable. But even with discounts, by the time you hit Level 7 you’re in for $500 million and the push to complete Level 10 is over $2 billion. No matter how you slice it, this is a multi-billion dollar building. Good Luck!   Level Cost Payout Hours 1 $30,000,000 $193,662 24 2 $50,100,000 $387,324 30 3 $83,667,000 $677,817 36 4 $139,723,890 $1,065,142 42 5 $233,338,896 $1,549,296 48 6 $389,675,956 $2,130,282 54 7 $650,758,847 $2,808,099 60 8 $1,086,767,275 $3,582,747 66 9 $1,814,901,350 $4,454,226 72 10 $3,030,885,255 $5,809,860 78 Total $7,509,818,469 […]

Amazon Instant Video Gives Content Permissions Error and Error 6103 During Playback

So, I just ran into this error when trying to play a video from Amazon Instant Video. The video acts like it’s loading but then throws a warning saying there is a Content Permissions Error and to call Customer Service with the Error code 6103. Turns out this is easily fixed in less than 30 seconds. Close all your browsers. Go to the directory – C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady\ and rename the file mspr.hds Restart the browser and play the movie again. This file is associated with DRM and was either corrupt or out of date. It should make a brand new one with the same size as the original. Problem solved. You can also go into the browser and disable the Silverlight Plugin. Movies will then playback in Flash rather than Silverlight. I didn’t try this one, but it might not be a bad idea since Silverlight is a completely dead technology. I had Silverlight installed because of the 2013 Tour de […]

Say Goodbye to Winamp. Aol pulls the plug on the venerable media player

Sadly, the days of Winamp are numbered and it won’t see the light of the New Year. Aol had decided that after 15 years it’s just not worth the effort anymore. I truly hope you aren’t asking what Winamp is, but in case you are, it’s arguably the best MP3 out there. In fact, it was one of the original ones and ultimately got consumed by Aol. It brought plugins, virtualizers and even skinning to the world of music and apps. I remember using the original versions and still have it installed today. If I’m listening to music, Winamp is playing it. It’s disappointing to see the life of such a cool program come to an end. It was also one of the best ways to listen to Shoutcast and tune in to thousands of Internet based radio stations. Maybe there is still time for someone to come along and pick up the code. I won’t say Aol has done […]

Gree servers crash into the toilet, gold offered to smooth over ruffled feathers

It was not a good weekend for Gree and the Crime City players. It started off badly with several teams completely locked out of the Syndicate events. More people got poked in the eye when the new To Die for Designs LTB mysteriously lost 24 hours of build time. Then the hammer truly fell when Fight Club, 13 time winner of the Syndicate events announced their retirement due to the stats inflation and less than spectaclar game play. They claim they will officially disband their Syndicate at the end of the year and play with the least amount of gold possible. The forums were ablaze with hostile comments and gnashing of teeth over all the problems that have been experienced. To make everything better, Gree handed out 350 gold bars. The masses seemed to go silent. I have to say, this isn’t the first, nor will it be the last time we see this sort of thing. Gree has bitten […]

Corel Video Studio Ultimate and Corel WordPerfect

Amazon has an early Black Friday sale going on. You can pick up a copy of Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X6 for $30 as well as Corel WordPerfect X6 for $20. That’s a pretty good deal for both of these. I haven’t used WordPerfect for quite some time, but I have no doubt it has all the standard word processing features any of us would want. And a $20 price tag is hard to beat. Corel VideoStudio is their new video editing software and screen capture tool. I messed around with it a month or so ago and thought it was pretty neat. The screen capture software was quite good. The Ultimate Edition for $30 is a good price.
