Playing Plague a day keeps the contagion away

You know, there is something amusing about playing Plague during the workday as you select Transmission types and Symptoms and listen to all the sneezing, sniffling, coughing, nose blowing and all sorts of other contagion related noises go on around you. At this time of year, the office is a Petri dish of bacteria with people who have colds, allergies, pink eye and who knows what else. Sort of makes me feel like the next symptom I pick might cause someone around me to drop out of their chair. As the land masses start to turn red it makes you keenly aware that you need to wash your hands, grab some sanitizer and steer clear of people who are hacking all over their keyboard and mouse! Oh my goodness you dirty philistines! So now is a great time to play Plague again. It’s cold and flu season and there is good fun to be had mocking the pain and suffering […]

Ember by N-Fusion Interactive – A game inspired by Ultima

Ultima isn’t just inspiring people on the desktop, there are big fans of the game on the tablet platform as well. I came across this yesterday and it looks like a whole lot of fun. It’s an RPG called Ember and the developer says one of the main inspirations was Ultima VII. The game is scheduled to come out later this year, but the screenshots look really impressive and the gameplay sounds outstanding. There is supposed to be full interactivity, day and night cycles, a complete skill tree, 70 quests and even crafting. Is this pocket SotA? I will have to keep an eye on this one. If it’s anything like the Ultima series, I will have to play it. I’m sure I can fall down a mine shaft, get mauled by a bear and get stabbed in the backside in a portable game just as easily as I can in a full size one! The top inspiration is a […]

Bio Inc. Platinum – Biomedical Plague

Biomedical Plague is a game that amuses me greatly. I’m a big fan of Plague and letting loose contagion on the world, but there is something to be said about turning your patient into a voodoo doll of disease and sickness. I’ve some great times and some frustrating times playing Bio Inc and now there are even more ways to play. Version 2 has just come out and it has some pretty cool enhancements. Not only are the levels harder, but there are more risk factors and you can even try to save the patient as the computer tries to kill him off. It all sounds like wicked good fun! To be honest, I wouldn’t mind seeing Bio Inc turned into a desktop game like they did with Plague. I think the larger screen and mouse clicking action would be pretty fun to play. Not sure if that’s in the cards, but if they decide to head over to Steam, […]

Bunny Den Limited Time Building (LTB) – Building Payout and Upgrade Cost – Crime City

The next LTB is underway and to keep with the Easter theme, we have the Bunny Den. To be sure, they’re not hiding Easter eggs in there! To put it bluntly, this is a big, ugly building with some less than stellar income potential. But it’s not the income that’s important, it’s the reward. Like the Epic Boss event with it’s extremely high level prizes, this building comes with one as well. For the effort you get the Bunny Heels which are 250,000 atk, 62,500 with 1% Armor Defense. The defense is shockingly bad in regards to the attack, but a damn nice prize no matter how you look at it. It doesn’t come cheap though. The initial cost it $68.5 million with a total upgrade price of $17 billion. With upgrades you can scale that back to about $8 billion, which is still a hell of a lot to pay for a single weapon. And we all know you […]

Back into the lab to release plague and pestilence – Trouble with the Necroa Virus

So it’s time to jump back to one of my other passions, which is spreading plague and pestilence throughout the world and ridding the earth of all mankind. Ok, that’s just a joke, don’t put me on some list you wacky government types. After a break that’s been far too long, I’m back in Plague Inc and facing the challenges of the Necroa Virus. I won’t say I have a talent for killing off humanity, but I’ve done quite well on all the previous levels and except for a couple of times when Greenland has been resistant to my efforts, the planet has fallen quite handily to my hand crafted diseases. By and large, I’ve had good success with launching my dastardly plans from India because of it having both a seaport and airport, setting my contagion to float on the air and survive in the water, building up both heat and cold resistance and then working on drug immunities. […]
