Windward – Catching up on my pirate activities. Sinking ships and looting booty

So it’s time to catch up with my adventures in Windward. I’ve been playing this game pretty regularly since I bought it a month or so ago. I don’t get to play as long as I like in one sitting, but I’ve conquered many of the lands and am looking at land expansion versus ship expansion. Up until recently, I’ve been focused on building up trade between the different towns in each area. I’ve traded a lot of goods, taken on a lot of quests, ferried a lot of passengers, captured a lot of enemy vessels and sunk many different kinds of pirate ships. And during this time I’ve built up a pretty handsome fortune. I’ve worked my way through several ships and currently have the Royal Brigantine. I’ve also got a nice selection of skills from the skill tree including throwing fire barrels, poison and unleashing the fog of war to make myself invisible. My crew is also able […]

Audials One 2016 available for $19

I’m a big fan of Audials One and use it to record music, convert video, extract audio and record shows from the web. In fact, it’s the way I have recorded the Tour de France for the last 3 years. And with that, Audials has released their latest version, Audials One 2016. Normally, the full version is nearly $80, but using the link below, you can get the full version for just $19. That is a great deal for a really good product. If you want to record music from Amazon, videos from YouTube and media from the web, Audials One is a damn good choice. – New! Building a wickedly powerful Cartel in Dopewars – A blast from the past

We won’t trifle over the details of how I got onto such a line of thinking, but I was triggered by the memory of the old game Dope Wars. For the uninitiated, Dopewars is a game about buying and selling drugs on the streets of New York. The goal is to buy low, sell high, avoid the cops, pay off the loan shark and buy a trenchcoat with more pockets. Simple, eh? It’s an old game that has it’s roots in DOS and through the years dozens of variations have come and gone. There has even been a truly watered down version for the iPhone. However, the game that sticks out in my mind is the old Windows version put together by the now completely defunct group of Beermat Software. Their version was pretty nice in that it extended the number of days you could play per session to 90. You also got big ass weapons that could completely annihilate […]

Greezio Bank Limited Time Building (LTB) – Building Payout and Upgrade Cost – Crime City

So here is another LTB and the promise of fabulous wealth and prizes. This time we have the Greezio Bank (I wonder where they got that name from?) which is at least a small footprint building. However, the overall income, like the last couple, are nothing to get excited over. Considering the 12 hour collect time, all you can really expect from is $40 million per day when you hit it correctly. This is nothing compared to the amount we see with the Grillz or Shamrock Pub. But hey, it’s something to spend money on. And spend money you shall. The total cost will be $31 Billion with $20 Million per 12 hours. The prize for the effort and expense is the Explosive Deposit Atk 403.8k/Def 100.9k with +1% Explosive Attack. Again, not a bad prize, but what the hell is the deal with all the low Defense stats? This has become a boring trend and everyone needs more Defense […]

New version of Freemake Video Downloader brings back YouTube Playlist downloads

Freemake Video Downloader is one of my favorite download tools because not only can it grab the highest available video file from YouTube as a single file, but it converts downloads to MP3, allows for a massive download queue, allows groups of files to go into separate directories and it works with dozens of sites. If it’s a "tube site" there is a good chance Freemake Video Download can get the file. Whenever I’m scanning along in YouTube I have it open just in case I want to grab the file for later. Many tools grab videos from YouTube, but they don’t work outside that realm which makes them kind of limited. Unfortunately, Freemake has gone through a slump as far as updates are concerned and for quite some time it hasn’t been able to parse a YouTube Playlist. This is a feature it was able to handle before, but YouTube changed, Freemake didn’t and I had to look elsewhere […]
