Kickstarter Projects for People Who Like Card Games

Greetings my friends! I wanted to pass along some very neat Kickstarter Projects that I think are worthy of support. I’ve mentioned before I like card and board games and with that I’ve supported several Kickstarter game projects. I recently mentioned the Mayhem deck by Cardicians which has been fully funded with several stretch goals left. They have 6 days left so if you want to jump on board you need to hurry. But that isn’t the only one, there are some other really cool card decks I wanted to pass along. First up we have the Bicycle Occults Playing Cards Deck which has almost hypnotic effect to the back of the cards. The cards themselves are quite elegant and there are some nice addons like the Collector’s Coin, Poker Chips and T-Shirt. Give that one a look and perhaps offer a little support. Bicycle Occults Playing Cards Deck Next up is the Muertos – Day of the Dead Playing […]

Star Wars, Ubuntu and Audials One

This weekend took and interesting turn and it all started off with a little story called Star Wars. Since May 4th came around I’ve had a yearning to watch Star Wars again. It’s literally been decades since I’ve last seen it because I want to see the original ones. Not just the original trilogy, but the original Unedited version that came out in theaters. Not the remastered copy with all the changes, the honest to goodness real version that came out in the late 70s. The one where not only does Han shoot first, he takes the only shot as Greedo is far too dead at the other end of the table. After all this time I managed to get my hands on those very movies and on Saturday I sat down to watch Star Wars. Now, despite some less than stellar acting – Harrison Ford seems to be the only one who’s truly comfortable in front of the camera, […]

Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800

For the longest time I’ve been a big fan of the Microsoft Media Keyboard 3000 since a keyboard built for typing not playing games. The keys have a good layout and feel to them. It’s not loaded down with extra keys for macros or LED readouts or some other feature to give me extra sniper abilities. It’s just a keyboard for people like me who do a lot of typing. Alas, the keyboard is getting hard to find and the only versions lingering around are the wireless models. Not really to put them down, but I don’t care for wireless keyboards. When I turn my computer on, I want my keyboard to be ready. I don’t want to scramble to find batteries to make the stupid thing work and then make some special trip. I’ll make a special trip for ice cream, but not for batteries for my keyboard. And when it comes to the wires cluttering my office, the […]

Why Firefox? Why do you have to look like Chrome?

I started using Firefox with version 2 and this is the time it’s made me sad. Sad and angry. First off I don’t like the new design – some sort of bastardized offspring of Chrome and IE. If I wanted a browser that looked like one of those, then I would just use one of them. What the hell was wrong with the way it looked? Just because Apple forged ahead and made that ugly-assed iOS7 and Microsoft followed it up with the even more revolting Windows 8 Metro UI doesn’t mean everyone has to follow and make apps look like complete and utter garbage. I noticed the same UI change in Xilisoft last night. It was perfectly fine the way it was, and now it’s been converted over to castoff Easter pastel colors. For heaven’s sake, stop messing with the damn UI! Anyway, Firefox looks horrible now. Couple that with the latest news of how they plan to implement […]

Shooters Gun Shoppe Limited Time Building (LTB) Payout and Upgrade Costs – Crime City

Just when we thought it wasn’t going to happen a brand new Limited Time Building (LTB) hits the streets. This time it’s the Shooter’s Gun Shoppe. The initial cost is a hefty $100 million, pretty close to the previous Tsar’s Teahouse. Unfortunately, the payout is nowhere near as good. The initial payout is $657,895 versus $1,653,000 and final payout of $19,736,850 versus $49,590,000. Curse the bad luck. Good news it’s a small building with a 4×4 footprint and 12H collection time. If you want to go all the way this one it’ll cost you a touch over $25 billion. If you have some modifiers you might be able skate by for a mere $12 billion. It won’t be cheap no matter where you’re standing. The prize for each level is Shooter’s Special (26,786A / 14,423D) +1% Gun Attack So, now that’s it’s available what’s the best course of action? Do you forge ahead and upgrade this rascal for it’s prizes […]
