I’m not sure why it didn’t occur to me earlier, but I just recently decided to let Audials One index all my movies and music, something I’ve tried half a dozen times with other programs and it’s never seemed to work out. I just want a program to go through my drive and make an index of all the movies and music. I don’t want to add them one at a time and go through the process of adding metadata and box covers. If nothing else, just make an index by file and folder name, in most cases that will be enough to get started. All these movie and music collector apps make it too hard to get started. This weekend took and interesting turn and it all started off with a little story called Star Wars. Since May 4th came around I’ve had a yearning to watch Star Wars again. It’s literally been decades since I’ve last seen it because I want to see the original ones. Not just the original trilogy, but the original Unedited version that came out in theaters. Not the remastered copy with all the changes, the honest to goodness real version that came out in the late 70s. I bought Audials One 11 the last time it was one sale and it’s a pretty damn impressive piece of software. But, if you don’t need all that extra music ripping stuff, you can get Audials Moviebox 11, which contains all the pieces you need to capture streaming media and record your screen. Audials has just recently released a new version of their music and video capture, player, converter, podcast and radio station app, Audials One. I got Audials One back in June with the intent of copying the Tour de France 2013. And it worked like a charm. Since then I’ve recorded multiple shows from Amazon, found some great music, and tuned in some great radio stations. This really is a pretty sweet piece of software. Audials One is actually the culmination of Tunebite, Moviebox, Radiotracker and Mediaraptor. It pretty much lets you tune in to just about every piece of media out there. The retail price is about $80 with usual discounts putting it at $60. That’s not a bad price, but I can do better.
