It’s a Codemasters Weekend over at Steam – Big 75% Off Sale

The weekend is here so it’s time to jump behind the wheel and get down to some racing. Steam is having a big weekend sale on all Codemaster titles. This includes Dirt Showdown, Dirt 3, the Grid Series including the new Grid Autosport including DLC and Season Pass. There’s a lot to choose from. This new Grid Autosport is really calling my name. I normally wait several months before getting a new title like this just so all the glitches get worked out and people have a chance to leave their review. Oddly, those same reviews are a little mixed for this game. Some people seem to love it, others seem to hate it. I’ve liked all their other titles so I don’t see any reason why this won’t be a good one. But lots of fun things to choose from in this sale. Looking for some racing fun? Steam Summer Sale has that covered too!

This Steam Summer sale could very well bankrupt me. After picking up a few new games like Rise of Venice, Banished, Contagion and the Age of Empire series, I decided to check out what was on offer in the racing department. I never should have gone there. There is a ton on sale including Assetto Corsa, Next Car Game, Loco Cycle, Extreme Gas Guzzlers, F1 2013, Victory Age of Racing, the FlatOut Series, Hard Truck Apocalypse, Real World Racing, WRC World Rally Championship, Grid 2, Dirt 3, Zombie Driver HD and so much more. If you’re looking to get behind the wheel and race something you need to jump in on this sale. I already have a lot of these games, but there are plenty more to get. Some More Laps of Assetto Corsa in the Fiat 500

Since there was an update to Assetto Corsa I decided to take it for another spin around the track to see how I faired. This time I jumped behind the wheel of the Fiat 500 Arbath Edition and did my best to keep up with the pack and not send myself sailing off into the ditch. It didn’t all go according to plan. I still have some serious issues with cornering and braking. I can’t seem to get around the turns correctly and the amount of tire squeal is just about deafening. Even the Fiat, with it’s light weight and what I assume is pretty good handling, has no grip in the corners. It slides like it’s on the ice and I have to damn near come to a complete stop in order to make the turn. This just doesn’t seem right to me. Am  doing something wrong here? Time for a Lap in Next Car Game – Sandpit Showdown

Bugbear Entertainment has just released a new update for Next Car Game titled – Sandpit Showdown. There was a very nice sale over the Easter weekend so I hope you got a chance to buy a copy. For this latest update we have two new areas, the Sandpit Demolition Derby Arena and the Sandpit Race Course. I’m not very good at Demolition Derby yet so I clearly more time behind the wheel in that event. But the course is nice and open with dozens of cars slamming into each other with total disregard for safety. Next we have the Sandpit Track with is quite a bit longer and more technical than the other tracks we’ve raced so far. There are some severe turns that not only lead to flying off the track, but also slamming into the  many dirt mounds that line this new course. Need for Speed Series On Sale at Steam – Week Long Sale

As you know I’m a big racing fan. If it has wheels I want to drive it. I’ve recently jumped on board Next Car Game, BeamNG Drive and SpinTires. But let’s jump back a few years to the long running series of Need for Speed. The game has had it’s ups and downs, but overall there are some great "episodes" out of the series. If you’re looking to build your Need for Speed collection now is the time to hop over to Steam and grab the last couple hold outs that aren’t on Origin.
