And then there was a greenhouse

I built a greenhouse. Well, a quasi greenhouse. My wheat is covered and protected from the snow. It even has a set of doors so I can get in but the animals should stay out. And with that my resource hording is going quite well. I have a chest full of vittles. I now have many pork chops in my stable as well as bread loaves. I’m starting to get enough food that I might need to move on to the next chest. I will have to make some new armor soon (again). I shot down three Creepers with a bow and arrow but one of them got too close in the dark and blew a massive hole in the ground. The little bastard nearly downed me! Good news is I found another water source for growing wheat. It’s already several blocks down so I just need to cover it with glass, add a set of steps and put in […]

The train is on the porch

My train sets have arrive and in a great big package too! The extra long 30 inch track pieces mean the guys and TandKHobby had to use an oversized box. But I tell you what, they wasted no time in putting this order together and sending it out to me. I ordered it on Monday, they shipped it Tuesday morning and it’s here safe and sound on Thursday evening. I tell you what, that is some pretty impressive service. And the box is just full of goodies! I have track galore! There’s even the Royal Blue set tucked away inside there. I didn’t try to come up with anything fancy I simply made the classic oval with the extra track and set the train in motion. Without sounding too childish it was all quite exciting. Farming in Minecraft

I tried my hand at farming in Minecraft. That went well. I worked the land and got seeds. I then sowed those seeds and they brought forth wheat. The wheat then brought forth bread, which happens to look more like a potato than anything else, but I was able to make food! I won’t die from starvation! I’ll leave the dying up to the ladders, the lava, the spiders and the angry pickles that seem to lurk around every corner. From my secret Minecraft talks with Don over lunch I learned that a bucket of lava can be used to power the furnace. Yes, I could have learned that from Minecraftwiki.net but that’s not the point. With my mighty lava machine I made iron pants!
