Epic Boss Event – Bean Town Mike – Crime City

Another event is underway, this time it’s Bean Town Mike. Will his luck of the Irish hold? Can you win Mike’s Old Timer Roadster? This new event will run for a massive 7 days. That should provide plenty of time to do minimum damage, get defeated by the end of the 2nd day so I can stew and scheme about which weapons I could buy for millions of dollars just to get one more victory. I’ve made my way through Level 6, which is nothing to get cocky about mind you, but I’ve only managed to grab the Bottle Shank and the Irish Pride Trunks. I did get 1 Bean Town Basher so not a total loss. A couple more of those and I’d be pretty damn happy. I have no doubt I’ll be at the end of my fighting limits by the end of tomorrow, but let’s see how this plays out.

Amazon has updated their Cloud Player so it now supports the iPad. Now you can download and play music without having to go through some sync or transfer process. There will be no Real Racing 3 for me

I’m sure Real Racing 3 is a great game with stunning graphics, but after reading all the material I’m going to skip this based on principle. It’s a good deal at $9.99 and a great deal at $4.99 and a steal at $0.99, but based on this pay for play system, the game isn’t worth it. Quite frankly the game comes across as a complete ripoff. This is the epitome of what’s wrong with gaming, what’s wrong with the App Store and what’s wrong with Electronic Arts. Greed rules with an iron fist it seems. Can’t we just go back to the days when developers simply charged for a game and we were all happy? Do we have to be nickeled and dime to death with every game they release? Decorative Case Event – Crime City

The Decorative Case Event on has a couple of hours left and I have to say it’s been pretty craptacular. The cases have been dropping for every single task I do to the point where I got 205 of the damn things without even trying. And out of those 200 only 10 have been successfully opened to reveal a Jeweled Necklace. Those are some pretty crappy odds that’s for sure. It should also come as no surprise that no Weaponized Escalade will be coming my way. Disappointing to be sure. The list has been posted and the Mafia Without Pants is nowhere to be seen. Oh well, there is always next time around.

Cloning my machine with True Image 2013

Now that I have my machine in a pristine state with a brand new copy of Windows 7, drivers and all the updates, it’s time to make a copy of the damn thing so I don’t have to go through that again. We all know Windows will inevitably become a bloated mess so I need to be prepared. To handle the task is True Image 2013, which uses a pretty impressive Linux Kernel. I used the hot swappable SATA port on the front of the Silverstone case I have to plug in a spare 250GB drive I have lying around. True Image sees this drive no problem so I cloned the 3TB partition to it and had the drive resize accordingly. That took about 20 minutes to make a full copy. With the pagefile and hibernation file moved to another location the backup is reasonably fast. That was phase one. The next part was to make a backup to the […]
