Annual Crime Spree Jobs and Rewards List–Crime City

The dust hasn’t even settled on the last event and now it’s time for a new one. Welcome to the Annual Crime Spree Event. This is a big 40 Event Limited Time Quest Event that will have you running all over the city. Like the others, this is Energy based so maybe those “prehit” items will come in handy this time around. To be honest, I’m just going to casually go through this one. I love the weapons and the new challenges, but this is turning into a grind. The time commitment and constant checking are taking away from the fun. I’ll roll through this one at my own pace and whatever happens, happens. If I get decent weapons so be it. I’m good with farming for cash and building my hood. I have pagodas, toy boxes and multiple buildings that need to be upgraded. I still have plenty to do outside of these events. Mission: 1 Map: East Side […]

Freemake Video Converter, Audio Converter, Video Downloader

Ever since the Tour de France ended, I’ve been looking for some video tools to help me splice some of the videos back together. Live broadcasts don’t always go according to plan and you end up with fragments of the race. What I need to do is join them back together. Seems like a simple process, but apparently my way of thinking about video isn’t the same as everyone else. I look at it the same as editing audio. You open the file, it appears on a timeline and you remove the pieces you don’t want and add the pieces you do. You save the file as a new completed piece and everything is done. Well, not quite. While I’ve had many misadventures with video editing so far, I did want to share a very neat set of tools that I came across that allow you to convert video files between a slew of formats, a video download tool, an […]

Call of Juarez Gunslinger – A Beauty of an Arcade Shooter

I bought this game the other day in the Steam Summer Sale and I was quite anxious to try out these new monitors. I’m not a First Person Shooter fan for the most part. Halo, Call of Duty, etc aren’t my thing. Not because there is anything wrong with the game, I just suck at that style of play. Call of Juarez is a little more "arcade" style and the Western theme had my interest. It only took a couple of minutes to realize Juarez is utterly ridiculous and a hell of a lot of fun! I’ve never played any of these others in the series, but that’s pretty much irrelevant. For this episode you play Silas Greaves a Bounty Hunter who tells his tales of revenge while the patrons of the bar buy him free drinks. As the story unfolds you as the player live out of the action. Just keep in mind these are some tall tales. But […]

Four Feet of Flat Panel Goodness

If you recall a few months ago I wrote about a new machine I put together, an 8-core colossus with 32GB of ram and several terabytes of hard drive space. It’s a beauty of a machine, but there was one slight problem. The monitors weren’t on par with my new creation. Problem was, there was nothing wrong with the monitors, so I couldn’t in good conscience just throw them away. They weren’t great, but they would last until the end of the year. Well, that’s what I thought anyway. Alas, the years caught up with them and they began showing signs of fatigue. One monitor began to turn off at random intervals and then the other began to lose pixels. Not just a random, but one vertical line after the other. While Red and Green are festive for the Holiday season, they are quite distracting when it comes to monitors. The decline was rapid and they had to be replaced. […]
