Games to get in the Steam Summer Sale

The Steam Summer Sale is in full swing and there are hundreds of games on sale. I’ve already bought several new collections of games that I’m looking forward to checking out, but there are some games I’ve already been playing that I think you should get while they’re discounted. These are all under $10 while some are under $5. Banished – A great game of city building, but it’s so much harder and more complex than it looks. Betrayer – A creepy and mysterious first-person shooter with lots of puzzle solving elements. Besiege – Build a machine of mass destruction and turn it loose on the sheep! TinyKeep – I’m not sure why I’m in prison, I’m sure it’s an honest mistake, but I’m bustin out of this joint! Age of Empires II – One of the greatest city builder/RTS games ever made. Rise of Nations – Another stunning RTS that goes from bows and arrows to nuclear warheads. Baldur’s […]

My Prison Term Has Been Extended in TinyKeep

Walls cannot contain me! Common sense can’t stop me! I’ve made multiple attempts to free myself from incarceration and each has met with different levels of success. There was the glorious escape attempt where I scorched my captors to cinders. Or the attempt where I saw them crushed beneath the circling spiked wheel. There was even the attempt where I assaulted multiple attackers in a single fit of rage, made a tribute to the gods and got phenomenal cosmic power with which to strike them all down! Each attempt has been glorious right up to the point it becomes utterly unsuccessful. Sadly, most of my attempts have ended with a severe puncture wound by arrow, or in the worst case, flaming arrow. I not above admitting there have been a couple of beat downs, at least one fiery end and one defeat where have no idea what happened. I have to say, TinyKeep has turned out to be a great […]

My First Adventure in TinyKeep

TinyKeep is a game that was recommended to me based on previous purchases and what do you know, It’s on sale for a mere $2.50. I simply had no choice but to buy a copy and give it a go. The Story: You’re locked in a dungeon and your goal is to cobble together some weapons and make a daring and bold escape. All right, I’m on board. No idea what I’m in jail for, but these walls can’t contain me bitches! It appears I play the role of a penniless peasant, so I grabbed my epic cloth hood of poverty, my +1 meat cleaver of tetanus, grabbed an old board to use as a shield and made my grand escape to freedom. It did not go so well. We’ll just say that my first attempt was a mere practice run since I opened the cell door, turned the corner and was set upon by a gaggle of guards. Since […]

Empire Boardwalk Limited Time Building (LTB) – Building Payout and Upgrade Cost – Crime City

It’s time for the Empire Boardwalk Limited Time Building (LTB) and in more ways than one, this building is s steamy pile of crap. The initial cost isn’t bad, but output is pretty meager. This building is also freaking huge! It takes up an insane amount of space. Finally, while the attack points for the reward item is good, the defense is terrible. The Empire Boardwalk has a 12 hour collection time, which should make a lot of people happy. With modifiers you can get over $100 million per day out of this, provided it doesn’t get robbed. That goes for all the buildings obviously. I’ve already had to move buildings around to make room for this monstrosity. I’ve had to start another expansion and I’m at that point where some of the older, non-LTBs, will have to be leveled. That’s not really a big deal and we all knew it would come to this, but damn, why does this […]

Adding more drives with an External PCI-e 4 Port Card

When it comes to hard drives and the ridiculous use of space, I know a thing or two. It can be said that I have a few hard drives lying around. However, just because I have a few doesn’t mean I don’t need anymore. Thus, it was my goal to add 2 more hard drives to my larger machine. A 3TB internal drive is under $90 which is a great deal, so why not expand? Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but there are a couple of hitches. The machine in question has 2 internal hard drive, 2 optical drive, an SSD and a docking port for another Sata drive. Count that up and it’s 6 drives. My motherboard has 6 Sata sockets. Where to go from here? I certainly could just add more USB drives like I’ve been doing with the other machine, but that’s not really where I’m going with this machine. I’d prefer the internal version. This […]
